What To Expect
Journey into the Hills and Wetlands Meet in Adelaide’s CBD and enjoy a scenic drive through the Mount Lofty Ranges. As you travel, Amanda introduces camera modes, exposure basics, and what to expect from the day’s workshop. Light refreshments are provided while you leave the city behind for open countryside.
Reflections and First Light Begin your workshop at Laratinga Wetlands, a peaceful series of ponds alive with morning activity. Learn to balance exposure and composition to make the most of the soft, early light. Regular Birds (verified via eBird): Australasian Grebe, Musk Duck, Blue-billed Duck, Pink-eared Duck, Grey Teal, Hardhead, Australasian Shoveler, Great Egret, Little Pied Cormorant, Yellow-billed Spoonbill, Black-fronted and Red-kneed Dotterels, Superb Fairywren, New Holland Honeyeater, Welcome Swallow. Workshop Focus: Reflections, aperture control, and framing subjects through natural vegetation.

4.00Even in the summertime, this was a great tour to see birds. I believe I saw at least thirty birds.I had not seen before. From the adelaide hills to the coast.It was definitely a nice experience.

Amanda brought the perfect mix of expertise and personality. She made everyone feel comfortable, kept the group laughing, and shared her knowledge in a way that felt natural and genuinely helpful. The biggest surprise was how much my photography improved. Amanda gave simple, practical tips throughout the day, and by the time we wrapped up I could see a real shift in the quality of my shots.
