This tour was fantastic. Baf was our driver who took care of us by stopping for a break coming and going to the cave. He went with us on the tour of the cave. It’s quite a drive out to the glow worms and cave but was worm it. We floated through the cave in darkness and our cave guide told us when and how to take photos of the glow worms. You must wear a hard hat into the cave to protect you from bumping your head. We also saw big eels in water before going to the cave. It was an awesome experience.

Bring a good camera and enjoy the experience. Oh and bring a jacket too, as it can be quite cold inside the cave.

Amazing experience! Myself and some friends had been traveling through NZ and we really wanted to see the glow worm caves but didn't have a car and wasn't sure how to get to the Waitomo caves. We also didn't want to spend an entire 12-13 hour day in the car touring other sites, so we opted to go with a small tour and we're so happy we chose this one. Huzefa picked us up in Auckland and he gave us amazing history and insights to NZ as we drove past landmarks and towns. We were dropped off at Waitomo cave and our guide was so insightful and funny. The glow worms caves was an amazing experience in itself, while floating on a small boat, it truly felt like we were under a sky of twinkling stars. We left the tour with so much knowledge of the cave formations and connection of the land with the Māoris. On our drive back, we stopped by a cafe for lunch of delicious meat pies and soft serve ice cream. The entire journey was amazing and fun, 10/10 would highly recommend.

My husband and I were awed by the glowworms. Seeing them upclose was a breathtaking experience. It was worth the long trip from Auckland. Our guide, Husefa, was knowledgeable. He shared a lot of information about New Zealand.
