1.00This excursion was a 16 hour excursion. 2/3 of the excursion is spent in the car driving. I got home after midnight and my head is pounding from driving in a cramped van all day. The girl who lead the excursion was very nice so I feel bad about the review but it's just not worth it to go on this.
Excellent tour! Worth every penny!

5.00It was a great tour! We saw the main sights on the itinerary - Čičmany, Bojnice (castle), and Štrbské Pleso. Our guide, Roman, spoke excellent English, and was very knowledgeable both about the country as a whole and of course about our tour stops! The tour was completely customized to the group's preferences, and Roman offered valuable insights on which places to visit.
Long Day but Worth It to See Slovakian Countryside - Adventurous and Flexible Attitude a Must

5.00The tour was long, but it was a great day! As other reviews have noted, Michal is a fantastic guide. He’s knowledgeable, warm, and mindful of keeping the group safe and comfortable. He communicated about the pick-up location (since our hotel was in a pedestrian-only zone) and was on time in the morning. As we traveled, Michal provided excellent commentary that added to our appreciation of the country and our journey. As other reviews have also noted, the day is long. We were picked up just after 8:00 and got back to our hotel at 12:30. Sixteen and a half hours makes for a long day. Bring a good attitude and be ready for long stretches of time in the van. I couldn’t tell if the long day is just to be expected or whether our group was moving a bit slowly. Either way, expect an extended tour, and bring clothes that can accommodate the typically warmer weather of Čicmany and Bojnice and the cooler weather in the altitude of the High Tatras. I'd say the tour has a little something for everyone. I was traveling with my family of four, and each of us enjoyed all the stops. On this note too, the group was 15 or 16 people, and we were split between two vans. The group felt a little big at points but didn't take away from the enjoyment. Other notes: Don’t get attached to the listed itinerary on TripAdvisor/Viator. We were lucky enough to go the High Tatras because the weather allowed; however, we did not do the additional hike because of the bear overpopulation. (We also had less time in the High Tatras than the online itinerary suggested; another reason to not take that as fact.) We also did not do the lunch in Slovakian style at Cicmany Village, we ate near the Bojnice Castle instead. The listed times of transfer between locations are not accurate on TripAdvisor. Prepare for longer travel times. Finally, the TripAdvisor listing of this tour indicates attractions admissions as free; however, the Čicmany museum is 5 Euros for adults (2.50 for discounted prices), and the Bojnice Castle is 16 Euros/adult (10 for discounted). My sense is that this tour group is relatively new; with clearer communication of these details, I think they’ll be a great group to travel with. On the plus side, Michal is great, and the group provided snacks and wine, and the appreciation for the country and desire to share it with others is clear. I would recommend this tour to visitors and wish Michal and the tour group all the best! We hope to be back one day!

5.00Such a great adventure! I was so glad to be able to see so much more of Slovakia and learn about so many places. Michal was a terrific guide; informative, considerate, friendly, helpful. He had great information about each spot, and knew exactly where to go for the best views, pictures, and experiences. Whether youre in Slovakia for a short time or a long time, I highly recommend this tour to see places you'll want to come back to!
