Al Khor
Al Khor is a coastal city in northern Qatar, located 50 kilometers north of the capital, Doha. Considered one of Qatar's largest cities. Al Khor is home to many employees of the oil industry due to its proximity to Qatar's northern oil and natural gas fields and to Ras Laffan Industrial City. It is one of the proposed venues for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

5.00Our tour guide Saleem is very attentive and professional during our trip to Northern Doha. He introduced the basics of the attractions and provided ample time for us to explore each site. We also had great conversations about other things about Qatar, such as culture, customs, etc. We recommend this tour to anyone who wants to explore Doha’s less known cultural part. Qatar is not just about skylines.

5.00I had a 12-hour layover at Hamad International Airport, and wanted to see some of the more off-the-beaten track sides of Qatar. Booked the 4-hour North Qatar tout from Oryx Tours. Saleem the driver/guide picked me up at the airport, and showed me the Purple/Mangrove Island, Al Khor port, Al Zubarah Fort and Lejmail Heritage Village. Saleem was a wealth of information about Qatar history and culture, and a very skilled driver for the off-road portions of the drive. I gained a lot of insight about Qatar from Saleem. He told me about some sites in West Qatar to visit - looking forward to visiting those places with Saleem as my guide/driver the next time I'm back in Qatar.

5.00Our guide, Farooq, was always on time. This was our 3rd day with him. He would send a message when he's near & when he has actually arrived. That was very considerate of him given the Doha heat that we encountered. He was knowledgeable about the places we went to. We also learned so much about Islam culture & religion from him. Thank you, Farooq & Oryx Adventure!
