Here are few items you may need to make your time on the excursion the best of all: closed comfortable shoes (sneakers), sportswear, In case of rain raincoat or an umbrella. After summer time we recommend to bring also a warm sweater or jacket.
What To Expect
Plitvice Lakes National Park
Plitvice are known as a natural phenomenon because they keep changing through sedimentation of calcium carbonate and create special kinds of algae and moss, tufa or travertine which has been deposited and is still deposited to form the natural dams that separate the lakes. Since the process is ongoing today, just as it always has, new travertine barriers, curtains, stalactites, channels, and cascades are built as the existing ones keep changing. So it doesn’t matter if you have visited the lakes before, they probably look different now, so you can visit them again and never be bored. Besides the lakes, there are some interesting caves in which remains of prehistoric settlements have been found.

It was a truly stunning national park that is well worth the trip from Split and the expert guidance and knowledge from Antonia made the trip even more special. 5.00Mia and Sonja were our guides for the day. They are 2 very pleasant ladies with a sense of humor. The rest stop we went to was a great stop. No lines for the bathroom and great food. Mia and Sonja were very clear on the plan for the visit and where we were going to experience. The day went well. Our excursion was on June 10th, 2026
