This 2-day Sahara tour was a memorable experience overall, especially the first day. The journey into the desert and the stay at Dunes Insolites camp were truly special. The time spent among the dunes felt magical and was definitely the highlight of the trip. Some activities mentioned in the itinerary, such as the camel ride and quad bike ride, were optional extras rather than included, but we chose to book them and really enjoyed both. It might be helpful for future travellers if this is made a bit clearer in the tour description. One particularly lovely moment was the traditional bread-making in the sand, which felt authentic and unique. The food throughout the trip was plentiful and very good. Dinner was served in the camp restaurant rather than around a campfire as described, which slightly changed the atmosphere, but it was still enjoyable. The second day involved a long drive back to Tunis, which was quite tiring due to the limited space in the van. However, visiting Chebika Oasis was a beautiful highlight and well worth it. We were also unable to enter the Great Mosque of Kairouan as it was closed by the time we arrived, so improved timing here could enhance the experience. I would like to thank our guide Hamza for his efforts and our driver Baraket for his careful and safe driving. With a few small adjustments, this tour could be even better for future guests.

My wife and I went on this tour. Our tour guide was Ali. He was a good tour guide; very knowledgeable and happy to answer all questions. We first visited the colosseum. Unfortunately it was very foggy so the views weren't great. We had previously seen the colosseum on another tour so we weren't too disappointed. We then went to the Star Wars hotel and Berber villages in the mountains. This was very interesting with amazing views and a good amount of local history. If you're a Star Wars fan like me, there is not a lot to see. A few set decorations and photos from the production. We then went to the camel riding place. We opted not to pay extra to do this which turned out to be the right choice. The others who did the camel ride said it was too expensive for what it was. We then drove to the campsite. The tents were modest in size but the bedding was not sufficient for how cold it was. We were given a demonstration of making a sand bread. The bread was delicious and I only wish that there was more. The food at the camp was okay. There were toilets and showers there but if the camp was filled with guests (which it wasn't when we visited) there would be long waits. This is understandable since it was a semi-permanent camp in the middle of the desert. I was expecting this so it was not a problem for me. We had to leave at 6am the next morning. I did not sleep well because of the aforementioned cold. We were driven about 90 minutes towards our next location before stopping in the salt lakes to take photos of the sunrise. This was nice but I would have been just as happy to get some more sleep and photograph the sunrise at the camp. We then went to the oasis where we were handed over to a local guide. This was the highlight of the trip for me as the place was incredibly beautiful. Our final stop was the outside of the Great Mosque in Kairouan. Because we arrived in the afternoon, it was closed to tourists. As we had visited on a previous tour, we were not too disappointed. Overall the pros of this tour were the amazing places, the nice food and the knowledge of the tour guide. The cons of this tour were the very long (several hour) drives along uneven roads, short stays at the visiting spots (some about half an hour to stop and look around before moving on) and the poor sleep quality in the tents. I would recommend this to people who can endure very long drives as the sights were worth the journey. If you want a very comfortable and easy-going tour, I would not recommend this as it often felt a bit rushed.

This tour is commonly canceled at the last minute by the operators, even if you have had the tour booked for weeks in advance. Also, they have not immediately started processing my refund. Instead of “canceling” the tour from their end (when they have already told me the tour won’t be happening), the tour is listed as “unavailable,” and I am having to request a refund instead. I asked them about the refund, and they haven’t responded in over 24 hours. Overall, the tour operators are unprofessional. They should reveal beforehand that their is a high chance that the tour will be cancelled, and they should immediately provide steps for getting a refund if they can’t provide the tour that a customer has already paid for.

A really lovely trip and so much gets condensed down into a roughly 40 hour tour. I got to see way more than I thought I would. Ali was a very thorough host and Muhammed was a very safe driver. If you are short on time and want to see the seaside, to the dunes, to the salt lake and back, this is the tour for you. Unforgettable memories and even better photos. The bus was plenty comfortable and met lots of really interesting people. Thanks

My partner & I had an emersive experience with the activities we engaged in. Our driver Mohammed was very skilled in driving and always met us at the designated stops. When he was not driving he was very pleased to speak with us as well. Our tour guide Ali was very knowledgeable about the various areas we visited. He was especially attentive to my wife's needs as she had some difficulties with walking in certain areas. So he recommended easier pathways around the Oasis. We had an amazing meal and the tent we stayed in was supplied with electricity. We had enough covers to keep warm during the cold desert winter night. We enjoyed our meals and show that was put on by the camp staff.

This trip will stay in my memory. Firstly I will mention our guide Ali. A wealth of knowledge and information, and a natural at articulating this. Importantly he was careful not to overdo things and delivered the perfect amount of facts and figures. Our driver, was a chap by the name of Daou. What a nice man who I think made everyone feel very safe while in his hands! The sights and experiences will speak for themselves for those who choose to select this 2 day trip. Mere words could not possibly describe the magical moments. The time my son and I shared together will stay with us both. Thank you!

This trip delivered everything it said it would and still exceeded my expectations. In the desert we partook in Quad biking and camel riding ( Would recommend) The night in the desert after watching the sunrise was fantastic , with a unique show performed in front of the fire and a chance to see the stars which were mesmerising. The tents were comfortable and clean and beautifully decorated. The trips to El Jem and the Oasis are great too. Our guide was Ali, who was so welcoming , friendly and passionate about his work. The driver was Dhaou, who was amazing , making us feel so welcome. A trip my father and I will never forget.

I wish this tour was 3 days instead of two, the majority of the time you will be driving across the country which may not be everyone's cup of tea. The tour it seems can take you to different locations depending on the guide. We visited El Jem, a traditional Berber house, the star wars Idris hotel and the desert itself on day one. The desert is followed by a trip into the Sahara, some tea and snacks and some free time where we played with the abandoned desert boards. We then had a traditional fire side dance and equestrian demonstration (personally didn't like this) and then dinner. The desert was the highlight. Day two, we stopped at an oasis which was great and eventually made it to Kairouan but at the sunset prayer so we couldn't go in, which was a let down. Our guide was multi lingual which was very impressive! English, french and Italian. There was a small hiccup with our guide as our tickets to El Jem were included but we were asked to pay, we did but got refunded after some chat. Overall, recommended but wish we could do two nights in the desert.

Tour guide Mr.Ali and driver Mr. Said get 5 stars… However be prepared to sit for 21 hours in a minivan just to enjoy the desert for a few hours. Too many stops which is in conflict with the goal of this tour.. the tour company should adjust for summer and winter schedules…
