Your guide will collect you in a Mercedes from your Nelson accommodation around 8am and will proceed to orientate you to this stunning region. Nelson is surrounded by National parks and the sea and is renowned for its high sunshine hours and the drive to meet your water taxi passes through orchards and market gardens responsible for much of the fresh fruit and vegetables found in New Zealand. Arriving at Kaiteriteri which is one of the best beaches in NZ, walking sticks and back packs are offered if required before boarding the water taxi at 9.15am for a scenic cruise over calm turquoise waters past islands with seals and ringing with birdsong, then stunning coastline to be delivered right into the heart of the park at around 10.30am. Your guide has been specially selected for their maturity, experience and knowledge of Abel Tasman National Park and will lead you over well formed tracks in lush forest explaining the medicinal and eatable plants and their unique features. They will discuss the importance of the region to Maori, Dutch and European history as well as the early settlers. Refreshments will be supplied at beautiful vantage points along the way and after 2.5 hours the guide will produce a delicious gourmet lunch to be enjoyed on the golden sands of Torrent Beach. The final afternoon walk of 2 hours takes you around the Torrent Bay estuary to Anchorage to be collected by your water taxi for the return cruise to Kaiteriteri and the drive back to your accommodation by 5pm.

It was such a fantastic and most beautiful day in Abel. Alan is the most funny and informative guide I ever had! I had a wonderful time hiking and taking the cruise with this small group day trip from Nelson. Highly recommend if you are a Solo traveller like me. And got introduced to Frooze Balls! :) Greatest snack i had. Thanks for that Alan and the Team of Wine, Art and Wilderness

One of the best guided tours experiences I have ever had, and I had many! Al was a terrific guide, a great personality and someone who is capable of conveying the spirit of the place. We have had an amazing walk along the Abel Tasman trail supported by Al‘s incredible knowledge if the area. Everything including lunch was just perfect, the very convenient pickup from the hotel al the way down to the great company of the other 4 guests. I will remember this day to the end of my life! Thank you a thousand times for this amazing experience Al, you are the man!

Fantastic trip to Abel Tasman. Picked up from our hotel in Nelson and driven to Kaiteriteri where we boarded the water taxi. Our guide, Lucy, was superb and very knowledgeable and pointed out so many things we wouldn't have noticed had we done the hike by ourselves. Snacks en-route and a lovely lunch was provided. Learnt to walk barefoot like a Kiwi! Thank you Lucy for making it such a memorable day.

What a fantastic day with Jeremy. Abel Tasman speaks for itself and is breathtaking. Rather than trying to drive ourselves, book the ferries and pack our lunch, we paid for a full service tour. Well worth the money. Lunch was great the drives from Nelson and back were relaxing but Jeremy was the star. His true love of the area and nature turned our 6 mile hike into a class when we learned about the history of Able Tasman and the flora along the trail. First class five star operations.

Wow! This was one of the best all-day tours we’ve ever done, and we travel extensively. Our tour was slightly different than what’s described here—there was a kayak component (2 hours or so, saw seals). The kayak tour was just the right length, and all the gear & instruction was included. After the kayak, we took a hike through the national park—absolutely beautiful walk. A bit of a climb at the beginning—maybe 15 min, but after that it was all flat and in the shade. The real difference was the tour guide—we had Alan, and couldn’t be happier with him. He made the trip unforgettable. Alan: answered all of our questions, and admitted the one or two he didn’t have an answer for; he carried our water and our extra clothing in a gigantic backpack; he had lunch for us ready to go after we got off the boat; he was funny and engaging; really had a deep understanding of the flora and fauna of the area, pointed out different plants, birds, trees and gave us the background on each. We highly recommend this tour! Worth every penny.

We had two wonderful interactions with this organization during our stay in Nelson. Our full day tour of Abel Tasman park with Lucy was outstanding. Lucy is informative and knowledgeable about the history, flora and fauna of this fascinating corner of the world. She is charismatic and has an exceptional sense of humor. She was attentive to our pace of walking and our comfort. We could not have asked for a better guide- and the serendipitous end of our hike was a barefoot walk across the estuary, mud oozing through our toes! Thank you Lucy for a memorable day. The he next day, Zane drove us to Greymouth. He has deep knowledge and intense interest in all things kiwi, so he never ran out of excellent narratives. And he is learning the Māori language, so we enjoy delving into the Māori cultural heritage he is learning. Both of our excursions were in impeccably clean late model SUVs. This organization is first class from start to finish!

It's a wonderful trip by boat along the coast. And then a great hike through the wood. One can imagine that one walks through the jungle. Guide Angelica was fantastic. The rest of the group was tired en wanted to stop hiking. Then she walked with me to the next bay, Bark Bay, and back. Nice food and snacks!

The day was wonderful from start to end. The park is beautiful, and this was a great way to explore. The hour drive from our hotel to the boat pickup was smooth. Angelica pointed out interesting facts about the area we were driving through and gave us some history of the park. The boat ride was calm with beautiful spots sites pointed out by the captain. Angelica steered our group to the top level of the boat so that we could get great views of the islands and the park as we were entering. The beaches were beautiful. Once we landed, we hiked for about 3 hours with stops here and there to point out different plants and birds. We also crossed an estuary at low tide with our shoes off for those of us without water shoes or sandals. Angelica kindly offered each of us towels to dry our feet after taking them off for the crossing. I think in total we hiked around 10 km with only one moderate ascent near the beginning. Our group of five travelers kept in pace together with Angelica checking in to make sure that everyone felt comfortable with the pace. I recommend wearing sturdy shoes for hiking and possibly a rain coat (it wasn't supposed to rain on our day out, but it did.)
