Amalfi Coast
The gem of Amalfi is the oldest of Italy’s maritime republics. Whitewashed homes dotting the hillside are illuminated by the abundant sunshine that bathes the city. The basilica’s cupola is a reference to the Sicilian -Arabic influence that once dominated the area. For centuries it has been a popular destination due to its natural beauty and ideal climate.

Driver was the best! Gave us plenty of time for each town and was very knowledgeable of the area with a couple of extra stops between cities to take pictures.

This tour was the highlight of our trip. We were lucky enough to get Alphonso as our guide. He gave great information & recommendations & took care of us like we were old friends. A tour is a must when visiting these areas because the roads & parking is impossible. If you are a cat lover, grab some cat treats before you go. There are so many cats wondering Ravello. It’s enjoyable to sit in the square & interact with them.

We had an excellent tour with Vincenzo and Domenico. They took us to stunning views of the Amalfi Coast, Positano, and Ravello. We were given clear instructions, a great tour, and had a blast. I would recommend this tour to anyone!

We took a semi-private which was a very enjoyable one. Of course, it was low season, so the cities were quiet (yet interesting to see). The weather was not too bad and allowed some clowdy yet spectacular views. The driver Francesco told us a lot about the local history and culture during the tour, showed and explained many details and helped us where ever he could - taking pictures or finding routes to Naples for the next day for example. Everything was uncomplicated and easy going. The highlight to us was Ravello while Amalfi appeared as just another touristic city with expensive cappuccino. Positano was sleepy, but charming because we could see how people were preparing for high season. It felt like taking a look behind the curtain. The many stops during the drive to take pictures were well planned. So in the end, we really enjoyed our tour, even though it was rather calm and influenced by the weather. Taking the semi-private tour was really worth it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our day at the Amalfi coast. Vincenzo was an excellent guide, full of humor and interesting insights into the area. Our driver, Domenic?, did an amazing job navigating tight twisty roads full of aggressive scooters. I would not have wanted to drive the route we took. Positano, Amalfi and Ravello each had their unique personality. We enjoyed Amalfi the most in March, as it was lively and more open for business. We had a full complement of 21 people but it worked out fine and everyone was on time. Overall this was a great trip that we highly recommend.

Alphonso was an excellent guide. He gave us a great deal of information and recommendations. He treated us like we were personal friends of his. The sites were beautiful. I would hate to see this tour during high season though. I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to travel those roads with a great deal of traffic. It is an exhausting full day of a tour. We were first considering seeing these sites on our own. Definitely do not do this as there is no ability to park anywhere.

We were picked up promptly (actually set out early) and enjoyed a ride to three different cities. This is lovely if you just want to take in the sights casually. I only wished there was a bit more conversation about what we were seeing along the way. Or recommended sights at our stops.

We highly recommend the tour and our guide! Alfonso was a perfect guide for our tour of the Amalfi Coast. He was attentive and committed to our enjoyment of the experience, and so very knowledgeable—the information he shared with us and his lovely sense of humor (and singing) added to our delight in seeing these beautiful sights.
