Dhaka is the capital city of Bangladesh, in southern Asia. Set beside the Buriganga River, it’s at the center of national government, trade and culture. The 17th-century old city was the Mughal capital of Bengal, and many palaces and mosques remain. American architect Louis Khan’s National Parliament House complex typifies the huge, fast-growing modern metropolis.

I had a fantastic experience with this guide during my stay in Dhaka. He was extremely knowledgeable about the city’s history and culture, flexible with the schedule, and always attentive to my safety and comfort. Thanks to him, I was able to access places I would never have discovered on my own and enjoy a truly authentic local experience. His English communication was great, and he made the whole day both informative and enjoyable. I highly recommend him for anyone visiting Bangladesh and looking for a professional, trustworthy, and friendly guide!

A big thanks to Shahadat for all his help. Before I left for Bangladesh Travel Mate had a helpful website and they answered multiple emails from me, nearly always within 24 hours. No Q was too inconsequential for a response. After I arrived in Bangladesh Travel Mate very kindly re-arranged my schedule and still delivered everything I was promised after the airlines buggered my flight time. While in Bangladesh Travel Mate also assisted me with obtaining a train ticket to India. I did two full day tours and was very happy with my experience. I was extremely happy with the service and all at a fair price. I would use Travel Mate again.

Old Dhaka town . The Ahsan Manzil (pink palace) then most exhilarating and a bit scary bicycle rickshaw ride ride through old Dhaka followed by the most delicious idinian milk tea from a market trader. The guide spoke good english and was very informative.
