What To Expect

Moshi

The noticeably clean capital of the densely populated Kilimanjaro region sits at the foot of Mt Kilimanjaro and makes a good introduction to the splendours of the north. It’s a low-key place with an appealing blend of African and Asian influences and a self-sufficient, prosperous feel, due in large part to its being the centre of one of Tanzania’s major coffee-growing regions. Virtually all visitors are here to climb Mt Kilimanjaro or to recover after having done so. Yet there's much more to do, including cultural tours and hikes on the mountain's lower slopes.

Rau forest is found in the Kilimanjaro region in Tanzania. It is located about 3 km South-East of Moshi town. The reserve is on the gentle south-facing alluvial base of Mountain Kilimanjaro, at an altitude of between 730 and 765 m. I had a great time with my fantastic guide Frazier! I booked way too late on the Viator site as my plans had changed and I needed something to do. I was pleasantly surprised as Frazier and his driver picked me up with little notice. We became fast friends as Frazier was very friendly and knowledgeable about his city. We drove to the old train station and the market for a tour to see how Tanzanians shopped for their produce: it was my first time in a market like that and was a fun experience. We then went to the forest where we were met with another forest guide and the three of us had a great time in the forest. We saw monkeys, birds, insects and lizards. The guide told us all about the trees and plants that make up the forest. Overall it was very educational learning about the forest ecosystem near Moshi. If you are looking for a fun and educational tour with a new friend, this is the tour and tour guide to book for your stay!

The cycle tour exceeded my expectations. The rides were exciting and fun with a good variety from Moshi Town, the local market and the forest. The accommodation and meals were good. Above all thank you Frazier for the support, the bicycles were excellent and generally you provided exemplary service.

Pinnacle is a gem of Tanzania experiences. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience with JOAN by our side. Her expertise in guiding us throughout our whole trip was just so enjoyable. Every single penny spent on the whole trip makes it so worthwhile, coz no one else could have done it better than her ! And lastly she is also a beautiful genuine soul
