  • History, Heritage and Having a blast!

I absolutely loved this tour. I was the only one on the tour so it felt very personal. Both Andre (AM) and Richard (PM) were knowledgable, humourous and answered my many questions! Included is: a) Harrison's Cave (and I thoroughly recommend going to see the aviary and nature reserve which is included in your ticket). b) Barclays Park - good for a few photos but nothing really to see there c) Lunch at the Sand Dunes resturant was delicious! d) Barbados Wildlife Reserve - watching feeding time is an experience. Monkeys, tortoises, peacocks, chickens, all clamouring for their food is a sight to behold. The reserve itself is lovely and walking around you will also see rabbits, and snakes (both caged thankfully!) They also do a fantastic rum punch! e) Lewis Morgan sugar mill - fantastic structure but didn't spend very long f) St Nicholas Abbey was brilliant (don't be deceived by the name. It has no religious affliation whatsoever). History comes alive as you walk around this Jacobean House and plantation which was probably built and farmed by my ancestors!!!! Anyway, the tour guide was so well informed and funny to boot. The piece de resitance? The rum tasting. Something not to be missed. After all that, you are dropped back at your hotel full of knowledge and a greater apprecation of the history, beauty and variety offered across the 146 miles!

  • A couple of nice places but hours in the car

Lots of driving around with only a few stops on the way. A couple of stops were also shorter than advertised. As such, we were unable to see the monkeys, iguana, deer etc. at the nature reserve (45 minutes instead of 90) and couldn't take the train ride around the St Nicholas sugar plantation (45 minutes instead of 60) Lunch was adequate but nothing to right home about (tiny portions of chicken)

It was a great day. Just my husband and I with another person and our tour guide. Although the group was very small, we still had a great time. It was more personal. The Harrison Cave tour was exceptional..love it.

  • Poor communication, and lack of engagement was may main challenge

Despite living on the island I wanted to be a tourist for the day with a friend who is quite ill and wanted the day to be special. The poor commutation started with an email not a phone call the night before saying the pick up time had changed to 8.30am from 9.40 and felt they should have rang. The pickup was on time and our driver was a lovely man but really gave no comms about our surroundings to and from the destinations. And although he took us to Harrison’s Cave, Nicholas Abbey and the wildlife reserve knew very little about the destinations and felt they could be more training of your team to engage with customers. We missed the feeding times at the wildlife park by 30 mins which would have been nice to know so we could have spent less time somewhere else. All the places we went to where good destinations but felt you need to do more to make these events special.

  • Routine excursion

We had a private excursion and the guide was a nice man, but we had to pull the information out best. The tour felt routine. The stops were nice, but the mill was almost skipped, could just finish a photo and the park was not possible according to the guide because of closed road. Food at lunch was fine but not special. Nice to see different part of the island.

  • Transportation to two attractions

We received a private taxi to take us to 2 attractions and lunch: Harrison's Caves and St. Nicholas Abbey. What worked well: A. The car was clean and comfortable with an amiable driver, Rayon B. Pick up and drop off were at expected times C. Harrison's caves were beautiful What could be better: A. We were expecting a tour where things would be shared and explained. Instead the driver answered questions when asked. He dropped us at the 2 attractions but didn't provide guidance - we missed the original time of Harrison's cave and also were too early for the Abbey tour. As a result, a lot of time was wasted in waiting. On our return, he did share a bit about areas such as Sandy Lane etc. B. We were not taken to the other 2 attractions in the trip description: The driver mentioned that the Sugar Mill must be closed when we were passing by it, but nothing about the wildlife reserve C. Lunch was good but we drove a lot to reach the restaurant and it didn't have any ambiance. Seemed like a place where tours visited. It would have been better if lunch was at a place closer to an attraction or had some views. Overall not a good value or a good use of our time
