Our private south coast tour is meant to show you a variety of unique Icelandic gems. We take time for you to enjoy locations such as VÍk town, and walk up the glacier inSólheimajökull Glacier. In the drive, our guides are great conversationalists with a deep knowledge of Iceland and Icelandic language and culture, and of course we provide great Icelandic snacks for you to munch while we drive to different sceneries.

What To Expect
Seljalandsfoss waterfall
Seljalandsfoss waterfall, a highly memorable experience for all guests who join us on this tour. This elegant waterfall is 60m high, just like Skógafoss, but much less powerful. It is fed by the Seljalandsá river which originates beneath the Ejyafjallajökull glacier, another example of how different forces combine to form the landscape and features of the Icelandic countryside. Famously, there is a walking trail running behind the falls here, offering a unique, though wet perspective!
Solheimajokull Glacier
This is a so-called glacier tongue radiating from the larger Mýrdalsjökull. After taking the bumpy road we arrive at the parking lot. This parking lot was once situated alongside the glacier itself. The parking lot has not moved but the glacier itself has sadly much receded in past two decades, so much so that the walk to the ice from the parking lot now takes around 15 minutes.

Southern tour of Reykjavik - Book this one if you want a private tour - the guides are fabulous!!

5.00Grace and Katarzyna from Family and Friends tours were absolutely fantastic guides. They wanted to show us everything they could of this beautiful country and took us on the dramatic south coast tour. It was worth doing this privately as we were able to get to everything fairly quickly once we arrived as the drive is about 2 and a half hours from Reykjavik itself. The tour company provided great snacks and as 2 of our group were vegan, also made sure that there were plenty of snacks they could eat too. On the tour itself we visited two very dramatic waterfalls, (climbed a lot of steps to get to the top of one!) saw a glacier, and went to the black beach. Everything was incredibly impressive and well worth the time. We were on a cruise so were a bit limited for time and hadn't seen the town of Reykjavik, so Grace at Katarzyna took us around the town as well at the end. We will definitely be back and would use this tour company again. Just one thing- If you do go on this tour (which you should) take a change of clothes as you do get wet!!
