What To Expect

Sao Paulo

Our guide will pick you up from your designated pick-up location and drive to the charming seaside town of Santos around 1:30 away. As São Paulo is 760 meters above sea level, to reach Santos, the highways pass through an impressive mountain range that stretches along the south and southeast coast of Brazil. Monte Serrat

Take a train to Monte Serrat, which is a peak with a great panoramic vantage point of the old casino at the top. Access to the hill is via a funicular system (called the Monte Serrat cable car) that connects the hill to the city center and leaves every half hour. From its viewpoint it is possible to have a complete view of the port, the urban part of Santos and surroundings, Bertioga Channel, Estuary and Barnabé and Santo Amaro Islands. At the top of the peak stands the Chapel of Nossa Senhora do Monte Serrat, from the 17th century, patron saint of the city and one of its historical attractions, dating from 1603.
