The Rundale Palace - is set amidst the fertile Zemgale Plains in the south of Latvia. The Rundale Palace ensamble, one of the most outstanding monuments of Baroque and Rococo architecture in Latvia, was built between 1736 and 1740 as a summer residence for Ernst Johann Biron, Duke of Courland and a favourite of the Russian Empress Anna Ioannovna. The palace was designed by the Russian court architect Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli and built under his supervision. After lunch head to Bauska Castle - the castle is located in the Town of Bauska, amidst picturesque scenery on a strip of land between the Rivers Musa and Memele, not far from the place where they flow together forming the Lielupe. The Bauska Castle ensemble consists of two parts. The oldest, a Livonian Order's castle, was built in mid-15th century, and only its ruins have survived. The newest, the residence of the Dukes of Courland, was built in the late 16th century. In the evening return to Riga.

So beautiful. The castle is worth a visit. Easy to spend several hours there. Unfortunately it was not possible to get an audio guide there so we had to scan a Qr code in every room but didn’t bring headsets since we didn’t know. The garden was magnificent with all the tulips here in early may

Rundāle palace is a fantastic castle, similar to Versaille but with 138 rooms 😁 The tour guide was very knowledgeble and took us also to Bauska castle and several interesting extra sights ”off the beaten track”. Recommended!!

We had a great day with Dainis on our private transfer from Vilnius to Riga. He communicated well leading up to the transfer and was very punctual and professional. He provided water for both of us as well as some delicious local snacks from Riga. It was very convenient to be dropped off and picked up at our accommodations in each city. We had plenty of time to visit the Hill of Crosses and Rundale Palace. Because we had a little extra time, he stopped at a few extra places for us which we really enjoyed. Throughout the day, we also enjoyed getting to know Dainis. He is very friendly and informative. This is the best way to travel between the two capitals. We definitely recommend a transfer with Tourpoint!

We left at 10am with our guide, stopped at Bauska Castle on a beautiful sunny day, stunning views. Then we drove on to Rundale Palace and what a superb place and wonderful palace, with a stunning rose garden. The Palace has been restored to its former glory.

Our trip to the Baltic countries included visits to all three capital cities, and Tourpoint gave us an excellent way to travel between them and see sights in between without having to return to a starting point. First, we booked a private transfer with Dainis from Vilnius to Riga, with stops at the Hill of Crosses and Rundale Palace, where we had enough time to really visit the house and gardens. Then, in response to our request, Dainis worked out another private transfer from Riga to Tallinn, with visits to Sigulda, Cesis, Valmiera, and Viljandi, as well as one of the bunkers of the resistance fighters, all places that we could not have seen without much additional effort, cost, and travel time. The convenience of being picked up at our accommodation and delivered to our next stop was terrific, and the water and snacks Dainis provided allowed us to maximize the time seeing sights along the way. We cannot recommend Tourpoint enough!

Excellent tour company. We were looking for a last minute tour from Riga to Rundale Palace and Hill of Crosses. And we came across in their site online. I sent a booking inquiry online at 10:30pm and recieved a phone call from Dainis straight away. Dainis was able to find and offer us a tour the following day. We paid €85 each but worth it. He came in our hotel on time to introduce us to our driver and to our surprised Dainis gave us some food and drink to take with us during our tour. Our driver (sorry forgot his name) was really good too. He has good knowledge of the places and gave us some ideas on how to go and visit other places too. We highly recommend Tour point company.

Had a great experience with TourPoint. I needed to get from Riga to Vilnius and TourPoint offered a transfer between the 2 cities that stopped at the Rundale Palace and the Hill of Crosses. Great day, where I got to see 2 great sites and also benefited from a private transfer. Highly recommend TourPoint...great and professional staff. Also, highly recommend seeing. Rundale Palace and the Hill of Crosses.

I had a very good experience dealing with Tour Point to customize a day trip. I wanted to see the Bikernieki Memorial, Rumbula Forest Memorial and Rundale Palace and make it to the airport for a 7pm flight. It's not possible to get to these places by public transport or on a group tour (as least in this timeframe), so I opted for a private tour. Jans in the office was very efficient in answering my emails to help me sort out the trip. My guide (who also was the driver) was Ilze, who did a good job getting me around everything and staying on schedule. The two Jewish memorials sites were sobering. Rundale Palace was, as expected, very picturesque both inside and out. After visiting the places on the itinerary, we had enough extra time to spend an hour in the Jelgava, which is a picturesque city. (By then, Ilze could tell that I'm a keen photographer, so it was a good idea to take me to Jelgava, which has some nice buildings in the center.) I was very happy with Tour Point. The company is good to deal with in organizing a private tour, and the tour itself was very well run. So I highly recommend Tour Point to anyone needing a tour company to plan a trip in Latvia.
