  Amazing safari. Our guide Su has been doing it for 25 years, he was extremely knowledgeable and you can tell he truly loves the wildlife. He spoke really good English and explained everything clearly. Compared to the other drivers in the park, he seemed a cut above by far. I will say though - book direct. We paid a lot more than others on our tour purely to pay trip advisor commissions.

  Amazing experience! Our tour guide Ash was extremely skilled at tracking animals — the most impressive was when he tracked down a leopard for us based on its tracks and pointed its tail dangling from a tree!

  We had an absolutely amazing full-day safari and it was without doubt one of the highlights of our visit to Sri Lanka. From start to finish we were looked after extremely well. Our driver and guide were excellent — knowledgeable, attentive, and incredibly skilled at spotting wildlife that we would never have noticed ourselves as we travelled around the park. We were also treated to a delicious breakfast and lunch, which added to the overall experience and made the day feel very special. Everything was well organised, relaxed, and thoroughly enjoyable. We would highly recommend this safari to anyone visiting Sri Lanka — a truly memorable experience.

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Unforgettable Full-Day Safari with Janaka Safaris The full-day safari with Janaka Safaris was absolutely outstanding and one of the highlights of our trip. Our driver Su was incredibly friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife and the national park. Thanks to his experience, we were able to see many animals up close, and he always took the time to explain everything in detail. The organization was perfect, the vehicle was comfortable, and the entire tour felt relaxed and well paced. You can truly feel the passion and respect for nature and wildlife throughout the experience. We felt very well taken care of the entire day.   What an amazing day. For a start, anyone who loves nature must go to Yala National Park regardless of what you may or may not see. The place is beautiful and full of wildlife and power and energy of life. It made me remember the sacredness of the world we are in. Now for the tour…. Our driver was a guy named Su, he was simply excellent. Everything was done right from the first to last minute. He exuded a calm, cool, and friendly presence. He seemed to have a different level of knowledge of the parks dynamics and how best to run the trip compared to other tour groups. In the morning we broke away from the large pack of vehicles and found ourselves driving for hours pretty much alone avoiding the noise of other vehicles and the frenzy of pack-searching. It was peaceful and a real joyous morning encountering a wide number of different animals but in a relaxed and open way. After a great lunch and many interesting conversations we then found our way into the afternoon section. We enjoyed more wildlife and had many great conversations with Su. As the last hour came, we had seen almost all of the ‘common’ and beautiful animals in the park, except from the leopard. As a group we were okay with this as we understand the rarity and also had such an enjoyable day regardless. In the last 30minutes there were sightings of the leopard (called in from other vehicles). Su did a great job of getting us there. Unfortunately it was a false alarm. He drove the car back towards the central region of the park. We accepted fate again. Then another apparent sighting was called in. We couldn’t believe it. We drove to the sight and YES there it was, the absolutely beautiful and powerful golden Leopard. Su made sure we had a great spot to witness. Wow - what an end to the day and what an awesome experience all in all. Me and my girlfriend and the rest of the car left with an also spiritual feeling from the day and the sequence of the events and I can definitely say Su had a big part to play :) If Janaka has many other drivers like Su then I would say, yes, what an awesome company. But all I can say is, thank you to Su, and thank you to Yala National Park and Sri Lanka for showing us the beauties and sacredness of plant earth.

  The guide was kind od rude. When you asked something he was sighing and answered in a not friendly way. His way off communicate with tge guests were at a minimum he orepared having the hatches closed between us and him. The food was barely ok. We saw other companies offering more interesting lunch. He was a good driver though! The fact that we did not see a leopard is of course not only oyr fuides's fault but there were many groups who did see a leopard...

  We were recommended to go with this safari company and it did not disappoint. Wow! just wow. I am still in awe thinking about yesterday. Would definitely recommend the full day tour, as there were far less vehicles roaming the park for the morning session- meaning better views of the incredible wildlife the park has on offer. We were treated to a plethora of animals of which I will include their respective emojis. 🐘, 🦅, 🦚,🦜,🐊,🐃, and to top it off: 🐆!! If you can’t tell this is a Leopard, which we watched climb a tree and was then hissing at us. Highlight of my trip. if we weren’t already lucky enough our driver found a second one, this time an 18 month old who was relaxing in the bush. (Not hissing this time- Phew 😅). I’d like to give a special mention to our driver Srimal, if you can score him as your driver you’ll be in luck. he genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we saw all of the animals we wanted as well as being a knowledgeable tour guide.
