You get your moneys worth. Full day trip, large bus with ac and bilingual guide. They pick you up at near your hotel usually at the front door or a block away depending on bus access. First stop includes a light breakfast with coffee or hot chocolate, bathrooms, souvenir shop. Then you visit small town of Guatapé, umbrella street and can get some maracuya (passion fruit) affogato it’s delicious, great spot for pictures. Then you stop at the big rock, climb the 700 plus steps for a beautiful view, and you must walk stairs back down, takes about 35 mins. There are plenty of shops if climbing is not your thing. Next stop is a replica town, great for pictures. Walk downhill to get on a boat and see famous houses, enjoy modern music, drinks and bathroom available on boat, about 40 mins ride. From there you get on the bus for a late lunch (included) however you can upgrade your meal for a fee, they offer chicken, beef, pork or vegetarian option. Then you stop by another view point with a full petting zoo, snacks, shops, restrooms available. From there you get dropped off at your pick up stop. So you get a lot for the price. Downside for some maybe that you are on this trip for 12 plus hours, the bus is very large and it is full, we did trip on a Tuesday and there where 5 full buses from the same company. The quality of meals is ok, but it is included. Bring layers as the weather can change rapidly, cold in bus, hot outside, and rain showers. Keep in mind the guide may speak other languages than the native language here as a second language, so give them grace as they are communicating with you the best they can.

Great day trip to Gautape and Del Penola. Luis the guide and William the driver were both warm and professional. It’s a long day but well worth it!
