Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park
The Fortress, constructed intermittently between the 1690s and 1790s, is of singular importance as being the remains of a large, complete military community of the 18th century. As such, it is a veritable time capsule of international significance. The prominent Citadel is one of the earliest and finest surviving examples of a new style of fortification known as the 'polygonal system'. Brimstone Hill is nearly 800 feet high with steep and precipitous slopes which had to be tamed by the disciplines of engineering and architecture, and at the risk and probable loss of human lives. The walls of the structures are predominantly of stone, labouriously and skilfully fashioned from the hard volcanic rock of which the hill is composed. The mortar to cement the stones was produced on site from the limestone which covers much of the middle and lower slopes. The Fortress is virtually a man-made out growth of the natural hill. The physical location of the Fortress presents attractive panoramic vistas of forested mountains, cultivated fields, the historical township of Sandy Point, and neighbouring Dutch, English and French islands across the Caribbean Sea.
Black Rocks
Black Rocks ,also referred to as Black Stone, is the name of a notable rock formation on the northeastern coast of the island of Saint Kitts. Located close to the town of Saddlers, the rocks consist of lava flow from the volcanic Mount Liamuiga which dominates the northern half of the island of Saint Kitts

Charlie was a good tour guide and we saw much of St Kitts. The tour says 4-5 hours, but ours lasted 6 hours. It was a bit too long and I would've packed some crackers or drinks if I'd known we'd be gone so long. Bus was full, seats were comfortable and A/C worked great.

Pickup from the cruise port was very easy to find. Annie and Joseph were both excellent tour guides and shared a lot of information during the drive to each stop. They packed a lot of scenic stops into a half day tour but it still felt like we had plenty of time at each to see everything and even grab a quick drink or bite to eat it we wanted. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the island.

We were in St Kitts for only three days and booked this tour on a Sunday morning for a tour on the following Monday. It was only my husband and I. Checked the website and it indicated that the tour required a minimum of two people or more. So being two of us we went ahead and booked. Late Sunday afternoon we received an email saying the tour would not proceed because there were not enough people and if we wanted we could have a private tour for an additional $100. We declined and the operator cancelled the tour. We felt like it was a Bait & Switch so be careful and check with operator before handing over money. We eventually received a refund however that was time we did not need to spend sorting things out. I'm sure the tour is lovely, but ensure the tour will go on before booking. Sorry we missed out.

A good way for first-time visitors to experience St. Kitts. Linking up with the tour was easy — walk down the short cruise ship pier, exit the port via the secure port welcome center (which includes a welcome desk and great rest rooms), walk straight across the square toward the building with the green Effy awning, and link up with the person holding the Annie’s Caribbean Tours sign. Tour was exactly as described. Ours was led by Annie herself in a 8-passenger van. Van is a tight fit with some windows divided. We circumnavigated the entire island in exactly the time allotted. We saw all the advertised sites, with adequate time to see each and capture photos. During almost the entire tour, Annie provided informative info on the island, its history, and culture. We arrived back at the port almost precisely at the advertised time. The island is beautiful. One highlight was the botanic garden and batik workshop. The view from the Brimstone Hill fortress is amazing. The fortress is the most challenging walk, with a steep ramp to access. Not everyone in our party tried but if you’re able to walk it, it’s really worthwhile. Other stops were much less physically challenging but I don’t recommend the tour to people who require walkers. This tour does not include lunch. Independent vendors at a few stops offer snacks and drinks, or you can bring your own.

This was the most uncomfortable excursion I have ever been on. The seats were so close together that there was no leg room. My knees are all banged up and I am not tall - 5' 10".

We saw all sides of Saint Kitts. The beauty, the ‘chi chi’ spots, and the experience of everyday people. Joseph talked about the history, government, & economy of his country. Rum samples, historical sites, and mouth dropping scenery for plenty of photo ops. Take Dramamine for the roads!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Joseph was a great guide. The tour had about 12 participants in a small tour bus. Joseph gave us all kinds of information as he drove the minibus all the way around the island. I feel like the stops had just the right amount of time too.

A wonderful experience! Annie was amazing, accommodating and knowledgeable. She gave us quite a few laughs. We enjoyed ourselves learning about the island, there is so much history here. The places we stopped are breathtaking and eye opening. I couldn’t imagine going with another tour! Highly recommend!

The overall experience was very good and made that much more enjoyable by the interesting and knowledgeable driver / guide by the name of Charlie. Tour lasted approximately four hours which represented good value. The small group consisted of a mixture of ages which formed a balanced atmosphere.
