Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park
The Fortress, constructed intermittently between the 1690s and 1790s, is of singular importance as being the remains of a large, complete military community of the 18th century. As such, it is a veritable time capsule of international significance. The prominent Citadel is one of the earliest and finest surviving examples of a new style of fortification known as the 'polygonal system'. Brimstone Hill is nearly 800 feet high with steep and precipitous slopes which had to be tamed by the disciplines of engineering and architecture, and at the risk and probable loss of human lives. The walls of the structures are predominantly of stone, labouriously and skilfully fashioned from the hard volcanic rock of which the hill is composed. The mortar to cement the stones was produced on site from the limestone which covers much of the middle and lower slopes. The Fortress is virtually a man-made out growth of the natural hill. The physical location of the Fortress presents attractive panoramic vistas of forested mountains, cultivated fields, the historical township of Sandy Point, and neighbouring Dutch, English and French islands across the Caribbean Sea.
Black Rocks
Black Rocks ,also referred to as Black Stone, is the name of a notable rock formation on the northeastern coast of the island of Saint Kitts. Located close to the town of Saddlers, the rocks consist of lava flow from the volcanic Mount Liamuiga which dominates the northern half of the island of Saint Kitts

Great tour! Joseph showed us around the island, gave us information on the history and stopped at the best photo spots. Some of the pictures we only took from the car, at some places we were outside and at some places we even had a lot of time to explore the place. He also gave us tips for restaurants etc… Can only recommend it!

Spoony gave us a great tour. We enjoyed his commentary and humor! Only reason why it wasn’t full stars is that my very tall husband was squished in the bus.

A very nice tour of the island, where you can see the highlights of St.Kitts in a relaxed way and with all the time. Charly is a very skilled driver and entertaining guide. The meeting point is easy for a cruise passenger to find.

The guide was waiting to collect us exactly as described. His knowledge of the island's history was very good, and he welcomed questions. The tour bus was comfortable, and visibility good. We visited all the locations listed, and had time to take some amazing photo's. A thoroughly enjoyable tour which was relaxed and informative.

Annie was great fun and provided a constant stream of information about both the sites we visited and anything we passed on the route with some added fun stories. Transport was very comfortable with air con and was a great way to see the Island. We would highly recommend this to anyone visiting StKitts.

The tour itself was good and St. Kitts is absolutely beautiful, but the experience felt very rushed from start to finish. Our driver, Charlie, was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of helpful information about the island. Unfortunately, he came across as impatient. At nearly every stop, we were hurried along. For example, we were only given about 10 minutes at the cane mill, which did not feel like enough time to really take anything in. He also seemed frustrated with guests who took longer than the allotted time. At one point, he actually began driving off and blowing the horn while people were still trying to make their way back to the bus, which felt unnecessary and stressful. It also seemed like some guests were pushing to move quickly because they claimed they needed to get back to a cruise ship early. We were not part of a cruise, and it felt like that urgency dictated the pace for everyone else, which took away from the experience. While we did get to see different parts of the island, it felt more like a quick pass-through than a tour. If we had not taken photos, it would be hard to remember much of what we saw because there was so little time to actually enjoy each stop. Also, although the tour includes a stop at a restaurant, there is no real time to eat, so I strongly recommend bringing your own food. Overall, a good overview of the island, but not ideal if you are looking for a relaxed and immersive experience.

Our guide was really great and reported very extensively about the island. The Romney Manor and Brimstone Hill points were very impressive.

The tour guide did not communicate a revised start time and had to come back to pick me up. He also forget another client entirely. Otherwise he did his job decently and showed us around the island.

Good tour of the island. Driver made 5 stops as promised plus all the drive-bys. I would have liked him to accompany the group to all the spots. That way he would have kept it all on time. But, he was ok and informative about the island. Good man.

I had a fantastic tour of St. Kitts with Spoony (hope I spelled that correctly!). The experience was extensive and beautifully organized, covering Basseterre, several small villages, historic landmarks, scenic viewpoints, the fortress, Caribelle Batik, and natural highlights across the island. The tour was very informative and comprehensive and well worth the money. Spoony was accommodating to every request and handled the group with patience, even when there were delays (which always seem to happen on group tours!). The van was comfortable, with air conditioning that was effective without being too cold. As a woman exploring alone for the day, I felt safe, well cared for, and completely comfortable throughout. I was also lucky to meet some lovely fellow passengers, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended.
