From Tromsø: Dog Sledding Experience with Transfer by Norwegian Travel (Morning 4.5 hours tour) Staff at bus station were really helpful getting us booked onto our tour and on the correct buses. The scenery on the rout to the dog sledding centre was stunning. The location was not too far from Tromso, so we weren’t on the bus for hours. Upon arrival, greeted by welcoming staff who made sure we were fully kitted up with all of the warm gear we would need. Space to leave our bags and get kitted up in the warm building, before venturing out to meet our furry friends. The dogs were well cared for and excited to get moving. The sledding guides were informative and passionate about their jobs. We were fully briefed on how to ride/steer our sleds. The scenery we rode through was beautiful and we were blessed with good weather, clear skies. It was really good fun, we swapped roles with our partners halfway round the track, and had a photo opportunity in the middle. This is only a short trip, but enough to give you a taster. After the ride, we got to make a fuss of our dogs and say thank you for the ride. We also got to see the puppies in the kennels. We were then welcomed back into the arm building for hot chocolate and cinnamon biscuits, and were able to get out of our snow suits in the warm. Though this trip was expensive for 4.5 few hours, but competitively priced, and completely worth it, and a lovely experience.

I had a confirmed booking and arrived at the pickup point on time, but the bus left without me. Despite this, the company refused to offer any alternative solution or refund and instead suggested taking an expensive taxi at my own cost. The service was not provided as booked, and the customer support was unhelpful and dismissive. Very disappointing experience, especially for tourists relying on clear communication and fair treatment.

This was terrifying and fun all in one! Learning to drive the sled was a bit intimidating and it was hard work, so make sure you have a bit of physical endurance. I would highly recommend using their boots, snow suits and gloves so that you stay warm when you’re riding. Definitely a highlight of our entire trip to Norway. We booked this excursion through Viator.

The staff was very friendly and had a very good knowledge of the dogs’ personalities rather than just their names. Several of the participants made frequent mistakes (not breaking correctly, etc) despite well articulated instructions, which unfortunately caused a lot of stops along the way. However, it was still a great experience overall!

I have been dogsledding many times and this farm did not impress me. Many shy antisocial dogs. Feels like dogs that dont enjoy people are kept in the kennel despite this being detrimental for the dogs and the guest experience. They should be given away to families to enjoy a quieter life, like most other kennels do. Some clearly limping dogs, some dogs with a nasty goose cough. Many skinny dogs. Fur not beautiful and shiny. We went with a cruise group and definitely didnt receive what the website describes: no clothes (they dont have enough for big groups). No guiding, just a short explanation on how to sit on the sled. The group was split in two and there was either sledding or just petting the dogs and self service hot drinks and cakes. No self driving. The ride was beautiful and the mushers were nice. But several people in our group left with a feeling of this all being suboptimal.

Loved this experience!! The dogs were amazing … and so were the people! The excitement these animals show for the job they do is amazing!!!

No snow but still got to go. Instead of sleds we used buggies with tires. It was great. Everyone is friendly and the dogs love the attention.
