Juma Mosque
Shamakhi’s greatest landmark is Juma Mosque, one of Azerbaijan’s largest and most lavish places of worship. While the current structure was reconstructed in 2013, the earliest version was built way back in 743AD, making this the second oldest mosque in the Caucasus and the oldest in Azerbaijan. Since then it has been destroyed and rebuilt several times, most notably during the devastating earthquake that reduced Shamakhi to rubble in 1859 and later by inter-ethnic clashes in 1918. Besides discovering its historical and religious significance, you can enjoy simply basking in the site’s elegance and tranquility.
Nohur Lake
Nohur Lake is a beautiful natural lake located in the northern part of Azerbaijan, surrounded by a dense forest. It is a popular tourist destination due to its picturesque landscape, which includes crystal-clear waters, verdant forests, and rugged mountains in the distance. The lake is a great place for outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, and camping, and visitors can also enjoy a scenic boat ride or picnic by the water's edge. The area around Nohur Lake is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including rare bird species and endemic plant life, making it a popular destination for nature enthusiasts.

The tour was really good. We got to cover all the options in time mentioned. Our guide and vehicle was on time and very helpful with everything. Their knowledge about the places, behaviour, and the way they treated everyone - waited if someone got late or wanted to explore more. It was a near perfect tour. Special thanks to our guides - Arzu and Ulkar for one of the best experience.

With my good experience with Heritage Tours, I booked this tour with them directly. The team on WhatsApp (+994 77 568 1167) is very active & supportive. They arranged to pick me up from my hotel in Old town and we started the tour towards the beautiful town of Shamakhi. We had the first stop at the Jummah Mosque for its great architectural appearance. However, if you have visited other Arab countries this mosque may not impress you much. After a science drive we arrived at Nohur Lake for a lunch at leisure by the lake. Lunch was delicious with vegetarian options and tea. Atmosphere was serene. After lunch was fun time at the Tufandag Mountain Resort. Beautiful Cable Car rides and amazing views from top and enjoy a stroll in the forest. We didn’t go to Seven Beauties Waterfall as the guide said its closed (however we heard other tours were going there). I don’t regret it as it was compensated by a visit to Lavendar Farm near Gabala. It was the start of the spring, so the farm was open was visit, where we saw, flowers were starting to bloom, a sight to amaze! Our guide, Russel, was quite tired as we had almost 3 hours' drive back to Baku town!!

I loved Baku and if life gives Chance would want to be here again. But trust me it was this smooth only because of thoughtful private tour planning and bookings by Ms.Nourana and Mr. Cehyun who took us in and around Baku with smile on his and always being kind and polite. Truly had a wonderful experience. If u planning Baku next connect with them. They’re best 😊

To our amazing guide, Elshan, Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our trip to Gabala truly unforgettable. Your warmth, care, and constant attention made us feel not just like guests, but like family. You kept us entertained, informed, and inspired throughout the journey—with a smile that never faded and knowledge that enriched every moment. From sharing the rich history of the region to making sure we were comfortable at every step, you went above and beyond. Gabala will always be special to us, and so will you. With deepest gratitude and fond memories, Yassir

Great trip excellent places. Weather was amazing so had great fun and photos. Nabat was also a great guide, a jolly one with whom we all enjoyed. She just needs to be a little more strict about timelines and tell people strictly how much time to spend in a particular location. People waste a lot of time in one place and then reach late to ski resorts which is a problem since they get closed early.
