Absolutely not a pleasant experience. We planned a walking safari, but: - We walked 1 hour out of 4 of which half the time a lot of explanation - The guide only saw late that I was wearing “bright” clothes so I had to walk at the back instead of leaving the hotel - I heard an elephant, a travel companion saw the elephant but the guide did not - At the end, the guide drove so close to an elephant that you could clearly see that it was not happy and sent out warning signals Conclusion: a lot of money in the trash.

We came by this tour by accident. Having done many game drives over several African countries, I had never been on a walking safari. The tour starts with a game drive to Zambezi Nat Park where a fresh kill was feeding a pack of lions, vultures and marabus, we pick up a trail of elephants. We leave the vehicle on foot and are shown how to age elephants by their tracks, check what other animals may be about, how to check various dung for species and then stalk some elephant downwind. Single file through the bush, treading softly we follow the knowledgable guide, Simon and find a mum with two offspring feeding in some brush. An exhilerating experience up close and personal. Highly recommended
