The “Gem of the Island tour” takes you on an eco-friendly journey through Sint Maarten/Saint Martin where you will ride along beautiful coastline, as well as travel through the center of one of the most multicultural islands of the Caribbean.
Starting from Philipsburg, you’ll meet your guide and get an introduction to cycling in St. Maarten on your Trek Hardtail Electric-Assist Bike (Class 1). After a short climb, you descend to the charming Oyster Pond Bay, a quaint residential area of the island. You will continue, crossing from the Dutch side to French St. Martin, along the eastern coastline, where you will see magnificent views of the rugged Atlantic coastline and our neighbouring island of St. Barths. Your pedaling will soon bring you to Orient Beach, referred to as “The pearl of the Caribbean” where you will have time for a cold drink and a refreshing swim.
Please note that St. Maarten does not have cycling lanes, therefore this tour requires cycling with traffic.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience on our e-bike tour in Saint Martin! What truly made it special was the small, intimate setting of the tour. It felt personal, relaxed, and thoughtfully curated rather than rushed or overcrowded. Benson is a fabulous tour guide who shares great information about Saint Martin — from local history to culture and hidden gems you might otherwise miss. His knowledge, energy, and genuine passion for the island make the experience both engaging and memorable. In fact, Benson was one of the primary reasons we chose to book another e-bike tour this year. We were absolutely delighted to find out he would be our guide again! This was our second excursion with him, and we truly could not have been happier to experience Saint Martin again under his guidance. If you’re looking for a different way to explore the island — something relaxed yet still physically engaging and a bit challenging — this is the tour for you. The e-bikes make it accessible while still giving you that satisfying, active adventure feel. We highly recommend this tour, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Benson as your guide. We’ll absolutely be back again!

Benson was THE best tour guide we've had in a while! He was very informative and even stopped multiple times for us to catch our breaths. All in all, we got to see a lot of the dual nation island and would definitely do it again without a doubt!

My Sisters and I had the best e-bike tour around Sint Maarten with Benson! He was knowledgeable giving us great insight about the island, we felt safe and he gave us tips about the bikes, what gears and power to be in ahead of the hills. He was fun and we had the best experience! I would definitely do this ebike tour when in Sint Maarten!

We had a great ride today with Benson. He was a fantastic guide. We appreciated how carefully he led us through traffic areas and let us know what the terrain was like coming up so we could adjust gears and be prepared. This is a very easy tour to take from a cruise ship. Highly recommended! Thanks for a great day, Benson! From Shawn and Charlotte

Benson was a great tour guide today, he made sure we were happy with our e-bikes before leaving port as we’d never used one before. Good instructions and we had a great ride. He was friendly and knowledgeable and although we did climb a few hills, it wasn’t a problem because the e-bikes are a great assistance to you. You do have to pay attention at all times because you’re out on the local roads but it was a most enjoyable morning with perfect weather . What’s not to like?

We had a little bit of difficulty trying to figure out where to meet TriSports at the port in St. Maarten but luckily another guide told us where to meet them. Our guide was Benson and he was outstanding. He prepared us for the entire ride explaining what to do while riding with the traffic; what a honk from a local means (they aren't made; they are just going to be passing you); and how to use the electric assist for the large hills. He took us to numerous lookouts to view the beautiful scenery. We saw both the French and Dutch sides of the island; and we enjoyed a drink on the beach. This is a definite "must do" if you visit St. Maarten. Ask for Benton!!!
