Chinggis Khan Statue Complex
The gigantic steel equine statue mounted by Genghis Khan himself is the largest statue of an equestrian in the world. This 40 m tall statue is located on a hillside on the bank of the Tuul River in an area called Tsonjin Boldog and connected to capital Ulaanbaatar by 54 km paved road. Tsonjin Boldog was chosen according to the legend that Genghis Khan found a whip in this area. In Mongolia, people believe that man finding a whip is a sign of fortune, good destiny, and occasion. The statue faces east, the direction of Genghis Khan's birthplace, and the sunrise. If you stretch your eyes to the east, you will see a small statue of his mother greeting him.

Snowy daytrip near Ulaanbaatar and Chinggis Khan statue! The weather was a bit cold, however the scenery and the camels earned it.

The tour was very organized. Our tour guides were very good in English, and they always offered to take pictures of us. They also knew the best angles very well! They even encouraged us to wear different costumes and ride a camel, horse, and eagle. The food was very special and definitely worth the price we paid for the tour. You can really tell that they love their job. In just one day, we were able to explore so many places. I think the names of our tour guides were T and P (one is also like a college student part time tour guide- he is very very kind and accommodating) I forgot how to spell their names, but they were the best. I highly suggest tipping them before the end of the trip because during drop-off, it can be traffic and you might forget, just like us. I wanted to give a tip, but I fell asleep and only woke up when we were about to be dropped off. Anyway, thank you so much!

Excellent day tour & great value for money, where you get to see the huge statue of Genghis Khan, rode in camel, held eagles & vultures, apart from practicing archery & having lunch in a Mongolian yurt. The last stop at the monastery was a great visit too, before heading back to Ulaanbaatar.

Pick up a bit messy so make sure to communicate well in advance, otherwise the rest of the day was perfect and great price value. We saw so many things in one day which would normally take 2 days. Would 100% do it again!!!

Visited the Genghis Khan Complex seeing and going up the largest equestrian statue in the world. Views surrounding the complex were amazing. Was able to hold an eagle, ride a camel and attemt some of the archery (challenging!). We then went to have lunch in a traditional Ger and had traditional Mongolian food which I found to be delicious. This was followed by the visit to the National Park where climbed the Turtle Rock, and climbed up the monastery, again with amazing views of the surrounding. Was able to horse ride and visit a nomads Ger on this tour as well. The host was an amazing guide who had a lot of knowledge about Mongolia. Highly recommend this tour, it felt more like a private tour which made it even more value for money for me.
