Get captivated by the legendary history and extraordinary culture of the Ashanti Kingdom on this introductory tour to Kumasi- Ghana’s second largest city. This region is well noted for the expertise in a variety of specialized crafts. Get immersed in the ancient craft of weaving the boldly colored fabrics of Kente and Adinkra which are deeply intertwined in the Ashanti history. Visit the studios of indigenous brass-makers, potters and batik-makers.
Your tour will be incomplete without a visit to the cradle of the exquisite cultures of the Ashantis- the Manhyia Palace, former residence of Ashanti Kings. Observe the orderly chaos of Kejetia Market - one of the largest open air markets in West Africa.
No tour of Ghana is complete without sampling some of Ghana’s most popular traditional dishes such as Omotuo made of rice and peanut butter soup, a much tastier experience than the name conveys.
Enjoy a short boat ride on Lake Bosumtwe, Ghana’s largest natural freshwater lake.

Shai Hills Resource Reserve
Day 1: ACCRA | SHAI | AKOSOMBO Following a sumptuous breakfast, we will check out of our hotel and make our way to Akosombo in the Eastern Region. Our first stop will be at Shai Hills Forest Reserve, where we’ll explore the ancestral caves of the Krobo people. A walk through the cool, dry evergreen forest offers you the opportunity to see relics from old Shai settlements within the reserve. Keep an eye out for wildlife, including antelopes, bushbucks, baboons, and various bird species. The ancestral caves hold significant historical importance—they served as fortresses for the Shai King until the late 19th century. The abundance of large stone rocks, tunnel-like openings, and overhangs made them ideal defensive structures during times of war. Later, we will proceed to Akosombo, arriving early in the evening. You can check in to your hotel and unwind with a relaxing boat ride on Lake Volta Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Dinner Hotel : Royal Senchi Resort
Tafi Atome
Day 2: AKOSOMBO | TAFI | WLI | AKOSOMBO After a leisurely breakfast and morning, we will visit Tafi Atome, a sanctuary home to Mona and Patas monkeys. These monkeys thrive in a small forest patch that has survived fire and human disturbance. The villagers consider them sacred and protect them. Next, we will continue to Wli Waterfalls, Ghana’s largest and highest waterfall. It’s divided into two sections, with ice-cold water flowing from a height of about 80 feet. On the way to the waterfall, you’ll hike through the lush greenery of the Agumatsa Forest Reserve, crossing the same river eleven times before reaching the breathtaking falls. Afterward, we will head back to our resort and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Dinner Hotel : Royal Senchi Resort
