The Golden Circle is the most visited and popular day trip in Iceland. It includes some of the most spectacular attractions in Iceland, including Thingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss and the Kerid Volcanic Crater. Kerid crater is 270m wide and more than 55m deep, there is also a 14m deep lake at the bottom of the crater which makes the whole scene look really magical. This is an 8-hour small-group making it a more intimate experience.
If you want to make the most of your time on the route add an optional visit at the Geothermal Park & Bakery where you can not only try famous geothermal bread but also see the newest Icelandic geyser called Eilífur.

What To Expect
Thingvellir National Park
Your day starts by driving from Reykjavik to the historic site of Þingvellir National Park. This was the venue for the Icelandic parliament from 930 till 1798 and is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, both for it´s rich history and amazing nature. This is also where the American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet which creates an amazing feeling having one foot in each world.
Laugarvatn
Laugarvatn sits next to a beautiful lake of the same name in a geothermally active area. The plumes of super-heated vapor billowing into the air in this area are used by the locals to bake rye bread in the ground!

5.00It was my first trip to Iceland (hopefully not my last). I didn't have many days and wanted a "taste" of Iceland so I selected this tour. I didn't want to visit a lagoon (maybe next trip) so this option was perfect. It was a lovely day to go sightseeing. Kiki had some fun stories along the way. He also gave us enough time to visit each stop. Our tour group was nice, I shared a table with some of them at Geysir for lunch. Lunch at Geysir was a little crowded but the food was really good.

5.00Walter our guide was amazing! Pick up was from bus stop 6 between 8.30-9am, he arrived at 8.40 and picked some more guests up on the way. He gave us an amazing informative speech on the way about the history of Iceland and the things we saw on the way. We even had time for an extra stop to feed some Icelandic horses. We were very lucky to have perfect weather on the day, no snow or rain so the views were brilliant. Each stop was very seamless, he gave us a time to get back to the bus. First stop we cooked eggs in the thermal springs to have on Rye bread. Next to the volcanic crater. Then the waterfall and lastly the Geyser. Between every stop Walter was giving us so much information about each place, he literally knows everything about Iceland and is very proud of it! What was so amazing was the drive as all you can constantly see on the ring road is stunning views of mountains so it’s not a boring drive going from place to place!! Thoroughly enjoyed it!

5.00Walter was an amazing tour guide and driver. I highly recommend this trip it shows you the real Iceland. We learnt so much from Walter regarding the history and landscape of this beautiful place. Do this small group tour it's so much more personal.

5.00We had an amazing time on the Golden Circle and Kerid Volcanic Crater small-group tour. Everything was well organized and the sites were absolutely beautiful. A special thank you to our tour guide, Mika. He was very communicative about pick up and kept everyone informed throughout the day. As we traveled from site to site, he shared great information and made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, the day was seamless and we had a fantastic time. I would love to do this tour again during the summer months to see everything in a different season. Highly recommend.
