The Gulf of Fonseca part of the Pacific Ocean, is a gulf on Central America, bordering El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua. This is an ideal eco destination for nature and adventure lovers. The area offers the chance to see dolphins bobbing along the surface and it is known around the world for its sea-turtle population.

The vegetation is predominately mangrove, with tangled wetland forests stifling the shore, beyond which are rugged volcanic hills. The long neglected islands host modest sandy coves and small fishing communities. It is also the home of some of the country’s best beaches are in the area.

  • Be careful what you pay and only pay with a credit card

Be very careful with these people. Never pay in cash, always with a credit card as it is the only way to claim if you are scammed. We hired a tour that includes several islands and we had an argument with the boat operator because he wanted to take us directly to the island of Zacatillo where they came to eat, wait for us and return, something that was not included in the $135 we paid despite telling them At the agency when we returned what happened and sending it via WhatsApp they made no gesture to compensate us. It is a scam, before getting on the boat you have to clarify with the agency and the operator where they are going to go because the game is that they blame each other but the one who loses the money is the client.

  • Good Bang for the buck!

My wife and I enjoyed the boat tour very much. Definitely worth the price. I would recommend taking extra clothes for getting wet. Staff made it an pleasantly unforgettable experience!
