Get to know Barcelona from its foundation the first century BC to nowadays by visiting the oldest part of the city to finish the tour inside Sagrada Familia, still under construction!

We will start the tour by walking through winding alleyways in the oldest part of the city, the Gothic Quarter. While the name brings us back to the medieval era, the point is that everything started a long time before, during the Roman Empire.

We will see medieval palaces and churches, the old Jewish Quarter, the famous Barcelona's busiest market, La Boqueria, and of course, some Roman remains.

Right after, we will get in a cab to go to the most iconic and more popular attractions in Barcelona, La Sagrada Familia. The most visited monument in Spain with over 4. 000. 000 visitors per year. Don't worry about that, with me you will use a separate entrance and will skip the line saving your time!

  • MIND BLOWN! This is THE tour to book!!!!!

First off - David is AMAZING as a guide! There are tour guides and then there is DAVID! There is literally no way our your could have met the level with anyone else. When i had trouble getting a taxi to reach the meeting point on time, David CAME TO OUR HOTEL and fetched us from the lobby! So instead, he started the tour from our hotel - using his flexibility, laid back and friendly demeanor, and superb knowledge of the area to quickly adapt and cater to us. David has served in the service industry most of his life and he has MASTERED how to service others at the highest level! He completely catered the tour to our whims, making it more immersive than we could have ever expected, but also carefree rnough that we were able to make a pitstop for water, gummi bears, and ice cream at our whims! The highlight of course was Sagrada Familia - DAVID IS PASSIONATE about that structure and it shows SO much and it is infectious!! I will only tell you that he gave my wife and I a moment at the venue, where we were both so blissfully overwhelmed...my wife was brought to tears and I was on the verge (and i don't shed tears easy). But the way David presents such a complex structure in an easily digestible manner that allows you not to overlook all the intricate details (which is very easy to do without help)...it makes this tour an absolute must! Indebted to David for such a MIND BLOWING experience! 5 stars is not enough...David and this tour deserve 20 stars!

David is Expertise, Professionalism, and Punctuality... all wrapped up in a fun flexible personality that adapted to our family's desires on-the-fly. David met up with us on our first night; he oriented us to the city (the Gothic Quarter, el Born, Las Ramblas) and made perfect recommendations for the remainder of our stay. We met up again later in the week for a fantastic tour of Montserrat; he kept both parents and the teen engaged. His knowledge runs deep. He has studied at Montserrat, so his intimate knowledge provided lasting insights. His love for his city comes through in his guiding. Thank you David for making our Barcelona trip so memorable.

David took our family of five on a walking tour of Sagrada Familia and Old City. He was wonderful and added so much detail to our experience. I have never been awe struck like when we walked into Sagrada Familia. David’s tour helped us understand the history of Spain and Gaudi’s influence around the city. It was the perfect tour with an enthusiastic and personable guide! I highly highly recommend!

David Chacon is the best tour guide ever & we’ve had other private tours, in various cities. He is super positive and personable. He showed my husband & I places we would have never seen on our own. He was very patient & helped me find Christmas ornaments I try to get in every country, actually made by artisans in Spain. He did not rush through the tour, and it actually ran overtime. His experience showed in everyplace we went. He knows shopkeepers and people, throughout the tour. He is such an expert at Sagrada Familia & explained all the various sculptures & towers on the outside, & showed us the best views and stained glass inside. Gothic Quarter was amazing! We took a break at a little cafe for wonderful, thick hot chocolate & fresh hot churros.

This tour was above and beyond expectations! David did an excellent job of explaining the history of the city, pointing out so many details that we would have obliviously walked past, and he made it so fun and enjoyable! He is an absolute expert and such a pleasure to spend time with. We are so grateful for this experience and highly recommend adding this tour to your trip!

We booked this tour for our first day in Barcelona. It’s a great overview of the Gothic area and David was the perfect guide. He is very knowledgeable and explained the history behind the places we visited. He was very respectful of our time and tailored our tour so we could spend more time at the Sagrada Familia. When we arrived at the church, there was a women’s choir performing, which made our experience very special. We highly recommend a tour with David! Great communication, and a very enjoyable morning with a really nice guide! You don’t want to miss this one!

David is great to work with and knows the city very well. His extensive knowledge of Barcelona helped us expand our understanding of the history and development of the city and the Gothic Quarter in particular. We saw Roman ruins we would have missed on our own and he even shared insights about local artists and favorite cafes. Seeing Sagrada Familia with him was a highlight as he has a passion for this sight which he shares and he explained and called our attention to the many details of the architecture and art. I wish I could return there already. We highly recommend David and will work with him again.
