Wonderful experience travelling through Mitchell Plains and over the Thompson River. Kangaroos bounding next to the train at 40km/hr and emus crossing the line in front of the 2 carriage train. Entertaining hosts in Robbie and David, and Merle's excellent morning tea. Great fun.

a train ride to look at the sunset which was not disappointing. Robby and David were a great crew, as was our OAT guide Bob. Smiles and friendly service. free glass of Champaign and canapes on arrival at our sunset spot.

This was a great way to spend a morning. Even though there's no air conditioning in this old train, with all the windows open there was a great breeze keeping the temperature down inside. The friendliness of the staff, their knowledge and constantly cheerful interaction made the morning fun and relaxing. The morning tea was very good, with pretty good damper.

What an awesome experience to travel by train through the plains of Longreach. Our host Renee and the driver David were great very informative about the area and also the train. My son is a train fanatic so he loved but my daughter and I lso had a great time watching the countryside go by and seeings all the wildlife, including emus, wallaroo's, pigs and of course bird life, would totally recomend this tour. This is a wonderful way to see another part of the Longreach area. This is a relatively new experience and our guides were Renae and David who were very informative and made the experience really fun. The Darr River where we had a wonderful "smoko", is absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend doing this or any of the other rail trips that Outback Aussie Tours offer.
