This was a fantastic tour that our group of 11 people, from Portugal, conducted with the “Melbourne Touring Company”! The driver and guide was very skilled in driving and managed to accomplish with expertise the entire scheduled itinerary. We saw wonderful landscapes on Great Ocean Road, very charming coastal villages and animals in their environment, of which I highlight the Koalas. Although it is a long day, you can go without fear, because the experience is worth living! We will keep in memory and photographic records the glorious moments of this day!

Me and parents planned a trip spontaneously to Great Ocean Road on Sunday night and we called Melbourne Touring Company, to ask if there is any chance we can get a private tour for the next day. John was really nice and he arranged a vehicle for us. Our driver and guide Kevin was really enthusiastic and showed us all the points very nicely and patiently. We travelled over 250 kilometres but it all felt so chill and relaxed. My parents really enjoyed all the scenic beauty and I personally liked every small detail which Kevin was describing while driving us around. He was really enthusiastic about spotting the Koalas. Honestly, I had a really great trip, a memory I can always cherish with my parents.

A thoroughly enjoyable day on the Great Ocean Road. From start to finish the trip was fantastic and made more enjoyable by Kevin (our guide) who was not only a fount of all knowledge as we navigated the roads but a fun traveling companion. We hit lucky coming across a mob of kangaroos (thanks to Kev’s persistence) which was the icing on the cake.

We booked three personal trips for 4 couples with Melbourne Touring Company from 30 May to 1 June 2025 to Penguin Parade at Philip Island, Great Ocean Road, and Melbourne local sightseeing tour. The first tow tours were conducted by Mr Wes. He was awesome and gave insight into all minute details of the places we visited and took some nice snaps of ours. For Melbourne sightseeing, Mr John came himself even though he was having backache, it was really a memorable trip with him.

A group of four took this tour. It was a great day and Wes, our driver, was a font of knowledge and was a careful and safe driver. His experience in determining the travel itinerary and stops made for a great experience for people seeing the Great Ocean Road and 12 Apostles for the first time. The extra effort in taking us to a "special place" to spot koalas was another highlight of the day. The pickup and drop off were on time and the vehicle was comfortable and well-supplied with chilled water on a warm day.

We had friends who highly recommended this touring company and we are so glad we heeded their advice. Wes picked us up at our hotel in Melbourne and suggested a counter clockwise approach to the Great Ocean Road, which was the way to go to avoid all the tour buses at 12 Apostles. Being a local, Wes had lots of info along the way and (more importantly) made sure we had the right amount of food and bathroom breaks. He knew where we could spot koalas and kangaroos in the wild. We chose to spend the night at Queenscliff to avoid another 2.5 hour drive back to Melbourne to only turn around the next day to head to Phillip Island for the penguins. There’s no way we could have done all that we did without a proper tour guide. The multi day is the best way to do the Great Ocean Road. What a great experience!

We chose the private tour with Melbourne touring company because it had great reviews and we wanted the flexibility to spend more or less time at each spot. We chose reverse itinerary with a 7am start to avoid the crowds and it worked out perfectly. Our driver, Wes, was a wealth of information, made great suggestions, and remained flexible to our wishes. We stopped to see koalas on the side of the road, drove through the golf course to see kangaroos, and spent time at each sight without feeling rushed. Wes even gave us great suggestions for our visit to Sydney where we headed next. It was the perfect tour and the perfect day!
