Longji Rice Terraces
Located along the Jinjiang River, Huangluo is home to the Red Yao ethnic group. This village is world-famous for its women who grow their hair up to 2 meters long, a tradition that earned the village a Guinness World Record. You will explore the riverside community, see their iconic hand-woven red clothing, and learn about the ancient natural secrets they use to keep their hair dark and healthy for decades. It’s a rare look into a living culture that has remained unchanged for generations. (An optional cultural performance is available at your own expense).
Ping'an Village
Ascend to the historic Ping'an Village, where 600-year-old wooden stilt houses perched on the hillsides overlook the world’s most famous rice terraces. You will walk along ancient stone paths through the village to reach the highest viewpoints, such as the famous "Seven Stars with the Moon." From here, you’ll get a breathtaking bird's-eye view of the vast, layered paddies that curve like a dragon's scales across the mountain ridges. It’s a perfect spot for photography and understanding how local farmers have hand-carved this landscape over centuries.

In November 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to visit Guilin and Yangshuo, and honestly, words barely capture how magical the experience was. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had stepped into a traditional Chinese painting — towering limestone karst mountains, peaceful rivers, and endless shades of green everywhere. The Li River cruise was one of the most breathtaking experiences of my life. Watching the mist drift between the dramatic karst peaks felt almost unreal. Every turn of the river revealed another view that looked like it belonged on a postcard. Yangshuo itself was full of life and charm. Cycling through the countryside was a highlight — passing rice fields, small villages, and friendly locals who made the experience even more special. The peaceful Yulong River, bamboo rafts drifting slowly, and the quiet rural scenery created a perfect escape from the busy world. The food was another unforgettable part of the trip. From fresh local dishes to lively night markets on West Street, every meal felt like a small adventure in itself. What truly made Guilin and Yangshuo special wasn’t just the scenery — it was the feeling of calm and wonder that stayed with me the entire time. It reminded me how beautiful the world is and how important it is to explore it. If you ever get the chance to visit Guilin and Yangshuo, don’t hesitate. It’s not just a trip — it’s an experience that stays in your heart long after you leave.
