Khor Virap
Khor Virap is the most famous pilgrimage site in Armenia, as it is directly connected with the adoption of Christianity. As a state religion, Christianity in Armenia was adopted in 301 due to endeavors of Saint Gregory The Illuminator, who, before converting King Trdat The 3rd to Christianity, was imprisoned in the dungeon, over which a church of Khor Virap monastery was built in the 17th century. From the monastery one can admire the stunning view of the Biblical Mount Ararat.

Beautiful views of nature, monastery and a nice short visit in the local winery (including the tasting). Thanks to a great guide Anahit who provided useful insights. Worth the price.

Had a fantastic tour today visiting Khor Virap Monastery, Birds-Cave, Hin Areni Wine Factory, and Noravank Monastery. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and spoke excellent English, making the whole experience even better. The lunch was delicious, and the wine tasting at Hin Areni was truly enjoyable. Highly recommend this tour!

A tour you must experience! We had a fantastic guide (Hayk) and an experienced and smooth driver (Joseph). The monasteries are worth visiting, expecially when a competent guide highlights key aspects related to history or religion which otherwise one would miss. We could barely see the tip of the Ararat since November (as well as March) is a foggy month, but it was still an emotional moment for us. For wines lovers the visit to the winery will definitely be interesting. Thank you Hayk!

We had another amazing private tour with Hyur Service, this time visiting Khor Virap, Noravank Monastery, and the Areni Winery. Our driver Hayk was excellent again, handling the long, winding roads with confidence and care. Our guide Anush was warm, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable, sharing stories about Armenia’s deep Christian roots at Khor Virap, with its breathtaking view of Mount Ararat, and the stunning red cliffs surrounding Noravank. We ended the day at Areni Winery for a wonderful lunch, wine tasting, and a fascinating tour of the wine-making process. It was the perfect way to experience Armenia’s history, scenery, and hospitality all in one day. Highly recommend Hyur Service...especially Hayk and Anush!

This one-day tour was half a disappointment: if, on the one hand, the visits to Khor Virap and Noravank were very beautiful, especially the latter; on the other hand, the Areni cave and the wine "tasting" were two huge disappointments: in the cave there is practically nothing appreciable to see; while the visit to the cellar was a race against time: 8 glasses of wine to gulp down roughly 16 minutes! Give up that rubbish and simply enjoy a visit to the two magnificent monasteries.

The tour was excellent. The bilingual information received from our guide Marina exceeded our expectations. Complete information, pleasant voice and exemplary attitude towards tourists. We thank her from the bottom of our hearts. Also the driver and the coach were excellent. All of this made the day during the trip a success.
