Erebuni Museum

The fortress of Erebuni is on Arin-Berd hill. It was built in 782 BC by the Urartian King Argishti The First. During the excavations, started in the 20th century, a cuneiform inscription was found, according to which, the history of nowadays Yerevan starts from this place. On the top of the hill the ruins of the citadel and the frescoes on the wall reveal the high artistic achievements of those remote centuries. The museum down the hill displays the findings that have been excavated in the territory of the fortress.

Tamara is such an amazing guide, she took us around the city showing us facts about different statues in Yerevan and also took us to a carpet factory and we learned how Armenian carpets are made. Such an amazing experience

I absolutely loved this tour! I visited Yerevan during the hot summer days and quickly realized that I wouldn’t be able to see everything I wanted just by walking — it was simply too much in the heat. That’s why I joined this tour, and it was the best decision I could have made! The perfect mix of walking and driving made it super comfortable and enjoyable, even on such a hot day. I completely fell in love with our amazing guide, Arpine! She is truly exceptional — a real professional with a warm personality, and she knows so many fascinating facts, stories, and hidden details about Yerevan and Armenia. Thanks to her, we saw all the major landmarks of Yerevan, climbed the famous Cascade, visited a museum, and strolled through the city’s most beautiful streets. Every minute was interesting and inspiring! A special thank you to our wonderful driver, Levon, who not only drove smoothly and safely but was also so kind and attentive, always helping the ladies get on and off the bus with great care. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour — it made my time in Yerevan unforgettable!

The Erebuni Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the roots of Yerevan and the ancient Kingdom of Urartu, which thrived from the 9th to 6th centuries BCE. Built in 782 BCE, the Erebuni Fortress showcases impressive artifacts—some over 3500 years old—highlighting the art, culture, and craftsmanship of early Armenian civilization. The tour, organized by Huyr Service, included a brief Yerevan city walk and was made enjoyable thanks to our knowledgeable guide Tigran and skilled driver Hayk. I highly recommend this museum to anyone visiting Armenia to understand where Armenian statehood began.

The tour was fascinating. Our guide Maria taught us the history and background of the sites we visited in a way that was easy to understand and very interesting and engaging. Our group asked so many questions and she answered excellently. The views were amazing. Our driver Karen did a great job. I can highly recommend this tour and the hosts who led us.

I was on a field trip on October 15. The tour really enjoyed it. Guide Anna is a great Guide, the information Anna gave was very informative and interesting. Thanks also to the driver, the ride was very comfortable. Unfortunately, I didn't remember the driver's name. Respectfully, Barque Dina.

This is an excellent and quick tour for anyone to get a feel of Yerevan. Ms. Anna, our tour guide, did an excellent job and at the end of the tour was very accommodating with visiting different areas when some of us left the van with her to start the walking around Yerevan tour. Others who decided not to continue the walking part of the tour were given the option to remain in the van and return to Hyur Service main office to be dropped off.
