Tegher Monastery
The church complex Tegher is situated on the southern slope of Mount Aragats. It consists of a church and an anteroom and was built in the 13th century under the patronage of Vache Vachutian's wife – Mamakhatun. The anteroom is of great interest, on the roof of which, from the south-western and north-western corners, small chapel-like churches were built. This anteroom has a special place among the architectural monuments of Armenia, due to its costructional composition. There is a stunning view, opening from the territory of the complex to Byurakan observatory.
Voskevaz Winery
Established in 1932, "Voskevaz" wine factory offers its visitors to taste wonderous and truly inspiring assortment of wines. The thing that makes this winery even special is that here wines are produced using both modern wine-making technology and old karases (traditional vessels for wine aging), made in the 19th century. During the tour you will visit wine cellars, explore the history of the factory, as well as learn about the peculiarities of wine-making.

This day trip was beautifully organized and the entire tour passed perfectly smoothly! Standing on the edge of the Kasagh Canyon at Hovhannavank was breathtaking, followed by the peaceful mountain air at Tegher. The absolute highlight was the fairytale-like Voskevaz Wine Factory - it felt like walking into a castle!

If you only have one day, spend it here! Hovhannavank offers some of the best canyon views in Armenia, while Tegher provides a peaceful retreat in the mountains. We ended the day at Voskevaz, which isn't just a winery - it's a work of art. Incredible history, stunning photos and even better wine. A must-do!
