  Velu was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. He arranged our entire family trip incredibly quickly and smoothly — everything was confirmed by Thursday evening for our Friday adventure, which already gave us great confidence in his professionalism. True to his word, Velu picked us up (group of 4) promptly from our hotel and took us deep into the heart of Lapland, far away from crowds and light pollution. The locations he chose were breathtaking and clearly well thought out for the best possible Northern Lights experience. What truly set Velu apart was his care and attention to detail. He made sure we were comfortable the entire time, providing hot packs to keep us warm and patiently helping us with photos and video shoots. He clearly knows how to capture the Northern Lights beautifully, and the shots we got were nothing short of fantastic — memories we’ll treasure for a lifetime. After an unforgettable night, Velu ensured we got back to our hotel safely and comfortably. This wasn’t just a tour; it felt like being looked after by someone who genuinely cares about your experience.   We were a bit unsure if we would be able to see northern lights at all because the weather forecast. However, Velu stopped a few times during the drive to carefully calculate our chances with the clouds, our position, light pollution, magnetic fields, etc. We ended up in a fantastic spot with wide view and no one else in sight, and were able to take great pictures ✨️ It was super nice to relax in the warm car and have professional handle the hunt and drive, so we could just converse and sleep. Throughout, Velu explained what was going on, and where we were going and why, which I really appreciated because I like to know what is happening 😊 Could not recommend his services enough!!

  I can't recommend this Aurora Hunting tour highly enough! From start to finish, it was an unforgettable experience, and that is entirely thanks to our guide, Velu. He is incredibly knowledgeable about space weather and took the time to explain in detail exactly what we were seeing, from the larger solar influences right down to the finer dynamics of the aurora. As someone who has joined many aurora tours over the years, I found his depth of understanding and ability to explain complex phenomena both rare and impressive. Velu is also a local, and it truly shows. He knows all the best viewing locations and brought us to the perfect spot, not only for visibility but also for capturing stunning photos. We were unbelievably lucky with the conditions - a clear, moonless sky - and were treated to an especially brilliant auroral display driven by a coronal hole high-speed stream, with a substorm that produced the most incredible display I've ever seen in my life! After multiple failed attempts to see a "proper" auroral display over 4 separate trips to Scandinavia, I finally achieved my dream and I still can't quite believe it! Velu had said earlier in the night that sometimes no photo or video compares to what you can see with your own eyes - and once the substorm started, we knew exactly what he meant!!! What really set this tour apart was Velu's passion and dedication. He was happy to stay out as long as we wanted and made it clear he would have continued hunting all night if needed to make sure we saw the lights.   If you are looking for the best experience Velu is your guy. Despite heavy rain (it was truly one of the worst days possible for aurora conditions), he drove us all the way to Sweden, managed to find a clear spot, and we were rewarded with a sky full of northern lights. I wholeheartedly recommend Velu to anyone who wants to learn more about the region and the aurora. He is a true expert, and his passion really shines through. The cherry on top was the company of Italians listening to Eros Ramazzotti, “Sarà Aurora,” while hunting for the aurora in the middle of a rainy night. The whole experience had a Tarantino-movie vibe — definitely a night to remember.

  We had an amazing tour with Velu. He has a huge amount of knowledge surrounding the Northern Lights. It is clear that he loves his job and that it is his passion. We saw a spectacular Northern Lights show at a secluded lake. Book with Velu, you won’t regret it!

  If you do not wish to read the entire review - please look no further and book this tour. There are plenty of big companies but none will offer you the experience this company will. Please for you own sake book with Laplandsacpes. I have never written a review of more or less anything in my life but feel compelled to write this review given how good our tour was and how great the guide was and I would not wish anybody to miss out on the opportunity our family had There maybe many tours available for the Northern lights but this must be by far the best. This was one of the best experiences we have received as a family and if you are looking for a tour of the northern lights look no further and book with Velu. To start with we communicated via email to check as a family we were suitable. We were greeted with friendly, polite and timely responses. As we arrived in Finland we aware given up dates on the likelihood of our tour taking place and the initial day we booked di not look likely so it was moved. We were communicated with efficiently through out so we always knew what was happening. On the day of the tour he arranged to pick us up at our hotel and was exactly on time. He then spent hours driving through the night to find the perfect spot for us. There appeared to be little hope of seeing anything but with the data he had collated he found the one gap in the clouds for us to see the most amazing light show. The genuine joy on his face and the delight he got from seeing our kids amazement at the Northern lights shoed us this is not just a job for him but a passion. He truly wants to share this amazing experience with you. I do not believe anybody working for a larger company would ever be that glad that we got to see the lights that night. It was one of the most magnificent evenings of my families life made even more so by the tour operator. Again please please book with Velu you will not regret it.

  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (10/10) We had the absolute best experience on our Northern Lights tour in Rovaniemi with Velu as our guide. From start to finish, everything was incredible. Velu was not only extremely knowledgeable about the aurora and the surrounding nature, but also genuinely passionate about what he does, and that passion truly shined through in every part of our tour. A big bonus for us was that he supplied us with hand warmers these were perfect. He made the entire evening feel relaxed and special. We never once felt rushed, he gave us plenty of time to take photos, soak in the moment, and enjoy the magic of Lapland’s night sky!! Even on the way back, Velu went above and beyond pulling over so we could watch the aurora crown explode overhead one last time!!🤩😍It was absolutely breathtaking and something we’ll never forget. If you’re thinking about booking a trip to see the Northern Lights in Rovaniemi, don’t hesitate, book with Velu!   Velu is truly professional, and very knowledgeable. Even though we didn't have the luckiest night with the northern lights, Velu spent our time together teaching us about the science behind the aurora, and how to read the data from satellites so that we can make better predictions. After our tour, we followed the data and managed to catch the lights at 3am!

  If you're reading this, just take this tour with your eyes closed. If there's an aurora anywhere, he'll find it! :))) After carefully reading reviews, I have noticed that some of the guaranteed aurora sightings were not so guaranteed as they make it seem... We chose Velu and went. The car is super comfortable and warm, he doesn't turn the car off at any minute because everyone can come in the car to warm up. He was willing to show and explain everything, he's passionate about it. He'll stay out and it's not until you see anything and that's it. In our case, we could see the aurora very well, then if stopped, there was no sign of new activities anytime soon and still he was there, waiting for hours, until we and the other two people who were on the tour decided to give up too. He then took us to the hotel, but here comes the best part: half an hour after leaving us, he messaged and said that it was back. So although we had all seen the aurora and the sighting was good, he would've come back to get us to see more of it, which is quite amazing! I have researched all the companies in Rovaniemi, and this was the best choice. I also went to a hotel that by coincidence only recommends him to his guests.
