What To Expect

Guatemalan Cooking Class with a Market Tour starts in the morning or in the afternoon with a visit of the local market in Antigua. Your host Joaquin will take you through the outside and inside market area where you will learn all about Guatemalan fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices while purchasing fresh products directly from local growers to use in your cooking class.

We absolutely loved our market tour and cooking class in Antigua, Guatemala! It was such a special experience and an amazing way to learn about the culture. Getting to see how the locals live and shop was eye-opening in the best way. Our guides were fantastic—stopping at little spots along the way, translating for us, and treating us like friends from the moment we met. Everyone we encountered was so warm and welcoming that we genuinely felt like we were visiting family. The entire day was filled with laughter, cooking, dancing, and enjoying the most beautiful views. And the food… hands down the best we had in all of Guatemala! We were also on our honeymoon, and they surprised us with a cake, which was unbelievably thoughtful and made the experience even more memorable. It was over the top in the sweetest way and truly the best excursion/tour we have ever booked. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Antigua—you won’t regret it!

The best experience! So much fun and friendly hosts! Easily the best tour/experience. The best way to spend the afternoon, learn about the local market, the local people and get a good scoop of the Guatemalan culture. The hosts stopped and explained everything to us along the way and we had so much fun!

Best thing we did in our week trip through Guatemala. The food, hospitality, view, and family atmosphere was incredible. If you have time I recommend 💯 because this was one of the best meals we had all week.

We were on a tour of the market square with Darío and then we went to cook at the Cuscun house, we made some amazing dishes, I loved that we all participated in the preparation and we all ate everything, we talked while preparing and we laughed a lot also to see our little experience making tortillas and other dishes. It was nice this afternoon... While we cooked we had glasses of wine and water and were also given a pleasant surprise with local fruits. Our chef's exposition was very clear, and fun. The great house team very friendly and dedicated.

The tour is a great experience both in the market, where you can know an indigenous place. Then in the workshop preparing dinner know the ingredients and do it all together is very interesting, fun and above all learning about Guatemalan culture.

Phenomenal guide who taught us so much about Guatemalan culture and cuisine. The food we made was plentiful and delicious. A wonderful way to spend 4-5 hrs!

The guide/chef Dario was very informative funny & patient. The walk through the market was beautiful. The cooking on the rooftop with a beautiful view. Great experience from beginning to end. Dario showed us a great time & we had the pleasure of cooking with him on his birthday. The Tuktuk ride was a little bumpy but was an experience. Highly recommend!
