As part of this class, you will visit a local market, choose exotic ingredients, and learn to cook 5 typical dishes. (3 main dishes and 2 complements) We will bring you to the local market where you can sample a lot of the exotic fruits. Maybe you had no clue what half the fruits were. Without a local guide, you would’ve missed out on so many food opportunities!

What To Expect
If ever you want to eat delicious food but also want to learn how to prepare it, we offers very fun cooking workshops options. We will bring you to the local market of Antigua to buy some of the most fresh ingredients for prepare our meals. Then deep on the heart of the market you can sample a lot of the exotic fruits. maybe you had no clue what half the fruits were. Without a local guide, you would’ve missed out on so many food opportunities! (On Sunday the experience may be different, because many of the local vendors they close for rest. You will see some things but not like in a regular day) After gathering the produce, you are then brought to their rooftop cooking studio where you prepare your own lunch or dinner. From there, you have a fantastic view of mountains as well as the Volcanoes around Antigua. You will be cutting your veggies while Fuego volcano is erupting Infront of you. sharing their food, you will feel like you are part of their culture!

5.00This was an incredible experience! Milton took us through the market and showed us so many native fruits and then we went to his house to cook an authentic and delicious meal. There was plenty of food! The group size was small which made it really nice, Milton’s English was great, and the entire experience felt authentic. He helped us not only appreciate Guatemalan food but also through it, understand the culture. I highly recommend!

5.00If you’re visiting Antigua, make sure to add this to your list! I enjoyed exploring the market and cooking with Milton and his sister Andrea. I still think about the recipes and plan to try them at home. The view of the Fuego volcano erupting several times was incredible and was a highlight of my trip.

5.00We had an incredible experience at the Foodietenango market tour and cooking class. Our group was only three people, which for us meant that we had great access to Milton's knowledge and experience. He and his family are great hosts. It was so cool to have such an immersive experience at the market, which can be or feel inaccessible if you do not know the local culture and language. The cooking class was top notch, we made a great starter, main course, and dessert, and we left with some recipes to try to recreate at home! Now to source a molcajete and comal...

5.00We were very warmly picked up at the agreed meeting point. Afterwards we went to the market, where we got to know the country and people extensively. After that we went to Milton’s house, there were three of us and three other people with different tuk tuks. Everything was organised in advance. At Milton’s we were warmly welcomed with refreshing drinks. First, we were offered the unknown purchased fruits for cost. Everything has been discussed in detail. Then we started with an introduction to the upcoming menu. The tasks were distributed to all participants and off we went. In between, there was always time for a little conversation. After the delicious meal, with delicious dessert, all participants were safely brought back to the starting point as discussed. We can only recommend this event 😃
