Glencoe is a truly majestic place. Mountains tower either side of you as you drive through the Glen.
Buachaille Etive Mòr is the most famous & photographed mountain in Glencoe. It towers over Glen Etive and it's name translates to The Great Heardsman of Etive.
It's 1,021 meters (3,351 feet) high and at the summit, you earn phenomenal views of Rannoch Moor and the surrounding mountains.
Your friendly local guide, Trev, will take care of navigation, safety and logistics so you can enjoy a fantastic day in the mountains.
After the hike, we can head to one of the pubs in the glen for a celebratory pint, if you like.
Your guide will keep you updated with the mountain forecast and can help with any clothing & equipment questions if needed.

After introductions, we'll walk towards the white cottage and start the climb of "The Buckle". The first section is a steep ascent up the valley. We'll summit to the bealach (saddle) for a well earned break. A rocky ascent brings us to the summit of Buachaille Etive Mòr at 1,021m. You've now earned the phenomenal views of Rannoch Moor, and your Buachaille Etive Mór summit patch. Depending on the weather, we may eat on the summit or head back down to a more sheltered spot. We'll then walk back down the same way to the car park. If you like, we could head to one of the pubs in the glen to celebrate the summit!

We had a an extended afternoon hike with Trev. It was a marvelous experience. He prepared us well with what to wear and what to bring. We asked to see waterfalls and he found several spots where we could actually dip in. Trev was a wonderful guide for us, providing not only history but fostering connection and care for humanity and nature. We are so grateful and looking forward to more with Trev in the future!
