What To Expect
Antigua
Antigua is a colonial city declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its cobblestone streets, churches and historic convents, such as the Cathedral of San José and the Convent of the Capuchins, transport you back to the past. The city is famous for its well-preserved colonial architecture. The Arch of Saint Catherine and the Church of La Merced are iconic examples. In this tour you will visit the church la Merced where, you will walk the iconic street of the arch, visit the Cathedral, the central park with its famous fountain, you can appreciate the processes of making two very important products for the Maya visiting a chocolate factory and one of jade.
Hobbitenango is a unique and charming destination near Antigua Guatemala that offers a magical experience inspired by the world of “The Lord of the Rings”. It is designed to resemble a hobbit village, with hobbit-style houses, round doors and a fantasy atmosphere that will transport you to Middle-earth. Additionally the park offers stunning panoramic views of the valley and nearby volcanoes, making it a perfect place to enjoy nature and take amazing pictures. You can have lunch or refreshment but also have outdoor activities. If you are looking for a different and magical experience in the middle of nature, Hobbitenango is an excellent choice

Official Transport of Altamira: Altamira is explored on its own and includes roundtrip transfer in the park’s tourist vehicle.
From Guatemala City
Transfer from Guatemala: We offer a convenient transfer option from hotels located in zones 1, 9, 10, 11 and 13 of Guatemala City
Duration: 12 hours: This option departs earlier to join the group at Café Condesa, and includes returning to your hotel in Guatemala City.
Are you in Guatemala City?: We pick up at agreed points and take you to Antigua to join the group. At the end of the tour, we return to the same point.
Tourist transport: We offer shared transport by tour minibus. At the end of the tour, we returned to the same point in Guatemala City.
Antigua Guatemala and Hobbitena
Antigua and Hobbitenango on foot: In Antigua you will be accompanied by a professional guide; in Hobbitenango you will have free time to explore on your own.

3.00Skip the Antigua tour, was brought to places really to just buy stuff. Felt pressure at the stops we were there for a few minutes and a sale pitch big time.

5.00I scheduled this tour the day before and everything worked out perfectly. Juan picked me up promptly at my hotel in Guatemala City and the ride was wonderful. He was joined by his wife and one other tourist and we even stopped to get coffee on the way to Antigua. Roberto our tour guide did a fantastic job showing us around town. We stopped for lunch at a local restaurant serving Guatemalan food and it was absolutely delicious. We had time to see many landmarks in the city with the beautiful backdrop of the mountains. Next time I come to Guatemala I will stay in Antigua because of this tour. Instead of going to Hobbitenango, we went to Altimida and Im so glad we did . The views were stunning and it wasnt crowded at all. Im very happy with this tour and would do it again.

3.00The tour is not done in Spanish and English, they are done only in English, if you do not speak English, you will not understand anything. They also don't take you to all the places they list in the city. The guide asks you about the timetable for going to hobbitenango, but does not specify that you will sacrifice time in Antigua for leaving earlier. Once he gives you your ticket to hobbitenango he leaves and you're on your own. In our case we were there 4 hours and it was too long.

4.00Roberto was incredibly knowledgeable about Guatemala. My daughter and I learned so much during the walking tour—it gave us a deeper appreciation for the people and culture of Guatemala. The Hobbitenango stop felt a bit touristy, with lots of walking and stairs, but we’re so thankful to Roberto for making the entire experience so memorable!
