The "fare vanira" is one of the last vanilla plantations in Tahaa to cultivate vanilla in the traditional way. Unlike vanilla greenhouses, this method is less and less practiced today. You can discover their plantations and their products during a guided tour given by the owners of the place. On site, you will have the opportunity to discover typical local products such as: honey, vacuum-packed vanilla, vanilla flavoring or even artisanal monoi. These products are intended for sale so you can find what you are looking for there. This experience is very enriching for both enthusiasts and amateurs.
The "Pari Pari" distillery is one of the island's renowned places for its numerous alcohols (rum) which have won several medals. Indeed, you will be able to discover and taste the different rums concocted by this distillery. On the program, a guided tour on the making of sugar cane juice and the entire process of transformation into rum. Several flavors and tastes are featured. There too, you will have the opportunity to purchase local products such as: alcohol, various coconut-based products (flour, oil, soap, cream) or "tamanu" or even homemade textiles... Finally, a paid minibar is available to refresh yourself and try the different creations of the house.

Loved this tour. We saw a vanilla shop, pearl farm, rum tasting, snorkeled in a coral garden, beach time on a motu with an excellent lunch.

Nice boat very comfortable, super team of young people and very nice motu with a hearty and varied Tahitian meal. Only downside is the absence of a punch or a beer.

The tour operator pulled in 3 boats to handle the number of guests from our cruise ship, luckily, we needed up on the smallest boat, and had a small, fun group for the day. The stops were very informative, the sites were small and clearly set up to demonstrate the featured business (rather than being a vanilla plantation, it’s a site where you can see vanilla plants being cultivated in a small area), but all of the speakers were excellent and we learned a great deal about the topics: growing, harvesting and making vanilla extract, cultivating pearls and distilling rum. You could purchase items at each site. There was a stop to swim, unfortunately, there was a miscommunication and we thought we needed to reboard the boat, but the guides took some guests for a walk up the beach to drift snorkel back to where we were anchored. Everyone who went said it was fantastic. Then we went to a motu for lunch, which was made by the relatives of our boat captain and our guide. Our guide’s 10-year-old daughter also performed in the dance show, and it was wonderful. The the food was delicious and served with locally produced juice and water. We relaxed on the motu for a while and then it was time to head back to the ship. The entire day was longer than advertised, with no sense of rushing us, which was wonderful. We were back to the ship with no worry about departure time, making for a delightful excursion.

A great boat trip: coral garden, swimming with sharks, impressive and secure! We also made some small local visits (vanilla, pearls, rum), interesting. The guide was super friendly, very pro and warm. The lunch was delicious, hearty and in a beautiful setting. A well-paced, varied and very pleasant day. I highly recommend!
