Samnanger Municipality
We've now been on the road for just over half an hour, time for a short break. We stop at Bjørkheim Cafe, from where we have a fantastic view of the Fjord. There are public toilets here and a cafe. We stay here for 15 min.
Fossen Bratte
Fossen Bratte means steep waterfall and that is a statement: The river Eikedalselva thunders down in a single drop over 79 meters. We also make a short photo stop at this waterfall and then drive a few hundred meters along the old road to get an impression of what it was like to drive on Norwegian roads in the good old days.

Tomas was an amazing guide giving great information about what we were seeing along with his knowledge of Norway and their way of life. He stayed with the group eating with visitors and truly got to know the passengers. He made the trip as it was quite a bit of van travel. Warning if narrow, winding roads bother you, then I would not suggest this tour as it did have quite a bit of that. However, that also let you see the real Norway homes and country roads.

Thomas was a wonderful, entertaining, professional driver who covered history and facts about Norway mixed with humor. The tour included all the scenic area of the fjord. We would recommend Fjordsrive tours to others without hesitation!

Great experience of the fjords and the surrounding communities. Our guide, Gair, was great in explaining the history of the towns around the fjords making the day fun filled. The classical music on the bus was nice and the pace of travel was just right.

Our guide Geir was fantastic. Very welcoming and accessible, he knew how to answer all our questions with relevance and sympathy. The day and very nice. Just a little long, but I left knowingly. So don't worry. Thank you Geir for a lovely day

This is an excellent day tour to the Hardangerfjord that I would recommend to travellers that are in Bergen for a short stay/weekend escape. Geir, our guide and drive, was well organised and gave us information about the region and places we were visiting. The scenery along the trip was amazing, and ever-changing between snowy landscapes, waterfalls, and fjordland. Overall, the tour is well organised, reasonably priced and manages to offer the most in terms of sightseeing within the constraints of a day trip.

I highly recommend this tour if you want to get the real experience of the villages and countryside without having to deal with a large bus crowd. I had previously taken another bus tour with the fjord cuise and while it was ok I feel I got much more out of this one and it was more relaxing. First of all, the Mercedes minival was new and very comfortable for the full day trip. The group size is perfect for allowing you to interact with some of the participants and not constantly have to wait for everyone to return to the bus to move on. The driver, I believe it was Geir, was outstanding at narrating the highlights along the way and was very personable and helpful. The waterfalls we stopped at on this tour were much more impressive then those we stopped at on the large bus tour. While this did not include a fjord cruise, we followed along the water for a good part of the tour and were able to see the fjords extremely well from a different perspective and got as good or even better view than from the boats. It included a stop for lunch at a very picturesque village right a lake which had excellent fish soup. The ferry across the fjord was also nice and allowed for a good break to get out and stretch and grab some of the traditional pancakes you hear about. In summary, this was a superb day trip and would be worth twice the price for the value and experience received.
