The Portuguese village that Lord Byron describes as a "Glorioso Eden" maybe because of the vegetation surrounding it, the moose-covered stones or the vigorous treadmills surrounding the trees.
World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is a place of great cultural and historical wealth, with monuments dating back to various eras and architectural styles.
We highlight the Palacio da Pena, whose eccentric architecture and location on the top of the Serra de Sintra provide stunning views over the region.
Another highlight is the Quinta da Regaleira, a true maze of esoteric symbolism, where architecture and nature merge in a unique way.
The day ends with a visit to the charming village of Cascais, one of the most sought after destinations on the Portuguese coast. Cascais is known for its narrow and picturesque streets, inviting beaches and its rich history as an ancient fishing village.

What To Expect
National Palace of Pena
Travel time already included in total duration. Visit to the Pena Palace and the gardens. The Pena Palace has been classified as a National Monument since 1910 and was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1995. It is one of the most iconic palaces in Portugal, with its blend of architectural styles, vibrant colors and panoramic views over the city and the Sintra mountain.

5.00We use them round-trip from the airport to Cascais and they were fantastic. Our return trip to the airport was at an ungodly hour of the morning and still they were there on time. We also purchased a tour to Lisbon and another tour to Sintra and they were also fun and informative thanks to our guide Tiago. Vehicles are spotless and very easy to understand as English perfect. I would highly recommend and we would use in the future.

5.00The whole experience was enjoyable. Tiago was a great guide with his witty and easy to get along attitude. He went above and beyond our expectations. We were exhausted and satisfied at the end of a long (8hrs) tour day. Would book again.

5.00A very interesting and excellent day out. We particularly enjoyed Montserrat. Tiago is knowledgeable and passionate about his heritage and gives information in a friendly way. His recommendation for lunch was superb too. Highly recommended.
We totally recommend Luis Travel and we would definitely call on our next trip to Lisbon. Tiago our tour guide the best!

5.00I used Luis Travel both for an airport transport and a day trip to Sintra — I was in amazing hands! Both days they were early, so friendly, so helpful, so knowledgeable. On the tour to Sintra, I was solo and wanted to maximize a day I had in town. Luis made it so I didn’t have to think. I got picked up right in front of hotel, taken to the best drop off spots to enjoy different sites with the limited time I had. During the ride in between, he shared all sorts of relevant info so that I could learn some history and context. I felt like I was family - treated with such kindness and good nature. My only regret is not having more time to have been able to tour even more. In line for Pena Castle, I talked to people who had been exhausted by the train and bus from Lisbon to get to the same place I had been dropped off in a very comfortable way. It’s for sure worth the extra to hire them. Focus on the fun and let them handle the logistics! Best decision! When I come back, and when I have any friend that travels to Portugal, I’ll for sure be getting in touch with Luis Travel! Portuguese, local company, trustworthy good people — highly recommend.

5.00Our guide Tiago was amazing. He was professional and knowledgeable and shared some hidden gems. The car was clean, comfortable and the company provided bottled water. I highly recommend for all types of travelers and they even had a car seat for kids!

5.00I contacted Luis Travel for 3 different tours. I scheduled full day tour of Lisbon, 1/2 day tour Cascais and Sintra (included going Pena Palace in Sintra). Additionally, did full day tour of Fatima, Nazaré, and Obidos. I had friend visiting from United States of America (California) who is a cancer survivor and who unfortunately has health issues. My friend can’t really do a lot of walking. So having someone drive us around was perfect because my friend was able to see more of Portugal besides the Algarve (I live for retirement purposes in the south of Portugal). My friend and I had a wonderful time on our tours (our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly). My friend was so happy she got to see Fatima (this was big deal for her). Overall the tours were wonderful and our tour guide did an awesome job. When I contacted Luis Travel I was really concerned about visit to Pena Palace. I had visited Pena Palace in 2018. I walked up to the Palace via stairs (it took like 45 minutes to get to palace). I shared with Luis that my friend could not walk more than 15 minutes. Luis told me not to worry because he would make arrangements so that there would be no walking. I didn’t know this until our tour (there is a bus that takes you to top of hill so all you need to do is walking tour inside Peña Palace). It helped a lot that our tour guide dropped us off at entrance to Pena Palace. After, parking vehicle our tour guide joined us. Also, Luis Travel included with tour fee the tickets to get into Pena Palace and bus tickets that gets you to top of hill. I will be contacting Luis Travel again when my brother and sister visit down the road. I don’t like to drive in Lisbon, Cascais, or Sintra. Thank you for doing great job on our tour!

5.00I can't rate the experience highly enough. Our driver/guide, Tiago, spoke perfect English and was courteous and pleasant at all times. He has a wealth of knowledge about the places we visited and was an excellent guide. He was patient with some mobility issues and very adaptable when the itinerary needed a slight change. The tour of the palaces in Sintra and places of interest in and around Cascais was perfect. A great day out and worth every penny.
