This was such a wonderful activity. I liked the idea of learning to cook something that I can share with friends and family when I get home, other than photos. Maya was fun to learn from. The steps were simple and easy to understand. It was a great way to experience Japan in a small way with a big life time impact of flavor.

Fun experience learning to make Gyoza. Ryo was a great instructor and very personable. A really fun experience that would be great for older kids and teens. I will definitely share my experience with other travelers.

We had a great time learning how to make Japanese-style gyoza in the "Gyoza Cooking Class in Kyoto: Traditional Japanese Dumplings" and highly recommend the class if you're interested! Our instructor, Hama, was easy and fun to learn from and, most importantly, very patient as she showed us 4 different styles of folding and sealing gyoza. She even started us off with practicing the folds using paper before we had to do it for real, which was very helpful. Towards the end of the class, we cooked and ate the gyoza (which were delicious!) and were given the instructions + ingredients list (including amounts) to make them at home.
