This is not an average hike, but a phenomenal experience. Much more challenging than I expected, but totally worth the exertion. Great views, a great workout, and great company from Eric.

I’m a fairly experienced hiker, but I’m also 76 years of age. I found the hike to be challenging but was blessed with a tremendous Guide named Eric who helped me every step of the way. So I was able to see things and experience things that I could not do on my own. I give this hike and Eric my highest recommendation. In fact, I’m so impressed with Eric and his guiding services that I’m looking at the other hikes he leads across the world

We enjoyed very much our wonderful hike today. Our guide, Eric is very friendly and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the surroundings, about the culture, we got suggestions for other things to do. We felt very safe the whole time, had a delicious lunch at a local, traditional restaurant after the hike, overall we had a great experience, that we highly recommend.

Had a great time on this hike with our friendly, kind, and experienced guide Eric. It's in one of the less-frequented areas by travelers which gave us the opportunity to interact with a lot of native residents and experience a different side of Costa Rica. The path gets tricky at some places but it's quite worth it for the striking views on the trail and at the top, and also a picturesque waterfall on the way down. Lunch was delicious as well. Wonderful experience all around

I didn't know what to expect initially and it turned out to be an amazing experience. I traveled solo for my birthday and wanted to try hiking for the first time. Eric was very patient with me and guided me through the hike. I felt very safe and comfortable during my hike. I was happy to find out it was a private hiking tour as I was able to go at my own pace without holding anyone back. This has definitely made me want to do more hikes on my own here back in Texas. I definitely recommend 1000% with Eric, he's definitely knowledgeable and notable hiker. He taught me how to place my feet and hike throughout the tour, which I am very grateful for it. I learned a lot. If you're worried about communication, his English is great, and we were able to have great conversations throughout the hike. Oh, he took some great picture as well. He knows all the angles to get the perfect pic!

This was a fantastic hike with great views along the way. Eric was a great guide that was very knowledgeable with the San Jose metropolitan area as well as the trail itself. He was always there to give us a heads up on where to step and educated us on the different type of plants we saw. He also brought some snacks and water for us as well, thank you. The lunch was at a very good local Costa Rican restaurant. The hike was about 4 hours in total with a few stops along the way. While the trail wasn’t difficult, there were some stretches that weren’t easy. Bring proper foot wear and you should be good. If you’re looking for something that many Ticas do and gives you a great view of San Jose, Costa Rica, this tour is for you.

If you’re looking to step off the beaten path… look no further than DoTicoTours! Our hike up to Pico Blanco was incredible, Eric knows all the best trails and spots and is very knowledgeable about the area. It was just the two of us, and it was a really great setting to explore some nature around the city. He also makes great conversation, and provides snacks! I would highly recommend a trip with DoTicoTours. Of all the things to do in San Jose — this is not one to miss.

Without a doubt visiting the Escazu Mountains is a good plan to walk and observe beautiful views of San Jose. The trail is very green and beautiful, my friends and I enjoyed very much in the company of our guide, who has a lot of knowledge of the area and made us a very nice tour.

Eric was an excellent guide for the half day hike! The hike was off the beaten track, medium difficulty, and exactly what my husband and I were looking for- beautiful lookouts, deep in the forest but there are no signs/directions. Eric plans the hikes in advance, and was very helpful in showing us proper technique/ making sure we didn't fall. Eric was very accommodating, ie: picked up my husband and I from our hostel, made sure we had enough water and snacks, set a good pace, let us have several breaks, ate lunch at a delicious spot. He was very knowledgeable about the surroundings, ie: the landscape, the vegetation, the different cities, pointing out hills/volcanoes, the history of the area. And he was very friendly, ie: never rushed us, asked us questions, easy to make conversation, friendly and kind. I would definitely consider hiking with Eric again!
