Afternoon wine tour with a lunch stop. A great option for people who desire the expert knowledge and connections that a winemaker tour guide can offer. A compact tour with time for lunch at a winery (at own cost).
On our half day tour you get up close and personal with the Marlborough wine region. You visit 3-4 wineries which can include a visit to Makana Chocolate Shop. Lunch at a vineyard restaurant is always a highlight for our half-day customers.
The half day small group winery tour has an itinerary but the tour guide will invite participants to make winery requests and vineyard suggestions.
If you have a favorite wine that you would like to taste and visit then we will do our best to take you there on this Half day Winery tour. This tour does not include a visit to Cloudy Bay, Fromm and Hans Herzog.

5.00Amanda our guide was absolutely amazing and created a beautiful experience for us today, a curation of 4 different vibes—truly something for everyone. She had a way of fostering connection among the group of otherwise strangers in the group. Felt like we were all old friends. This trip also got me unstuck from Sauv Blancs—I’m kinda into Pinot Gris now. Can’t recommend Amanda enough and the Hop N Grape crew for taking a solo guest at the last minute today. So worth every penny and my 24 hour trip to Marlborough. 🙏

5.00We booked this tour as we wanted an informative and interesting day. We could not have chosen any better. Amanda was very welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable about the vineyards. There were 6 of us in total from NZ, Switzerland and the UK. It was a fantastic day, we enjoyed a lovely lunch together(own cost) and on the half day visited 4 vineyards. Very enjoyable and highly recommended

Our guide gave us a thorough and engaging explanation of each vineyard we visited, demonstrating impressive knowledge about the wines, the regions, and the unique characteristics of each estate. Their passion for winemaking truly enhanced the experience. With a wonderful attitude and warm personality, they made us feel relaxed and welcome throughout the day. We especially appreciated that they gave us all the time we needed at each of the four vineyards, allowing us to savor the wines, ask questions, and fully enjoy every stop. It was an unforgettable experience that we would highly recommend.

5.00A big thank you to Darlene for making our tour special, she gave us lots of good information about wine making and the history of Marlborough in general. Luckily we had two other couples who were as interested as us and the conversation around the tables flowed when we were tasting which made it even better. Villa Maria winery was always on our radar so tasting four of their alternative wines and seeing the winery was special. The whole experience from all four wineries and the information about the wines, grapes and history made it very enjoyable.

5.00My husband and I were booked to go on the half day Winos Tour for my 50th birthday, but unfortunately my hubby ended up in Urgent Care on the day of the tour instead! Cameron and the Hop n Grape Team were amazing. They kept in touch with us during the day to see how we were doing and see if they could loop back and at least let us enjoy part of the tour. Unfortunately it was not meant to be. However, arriving back at our hotel, feeling somewhat deflated, we were over the moon to find a birthday card and bottle of wine for us! It was a really kind and thoughtful touch. They really couldn't have been more friendly, caring or generous. We would definitely recommend this company and would certainly book with them again if we go back to NZ.

5.00Enjoyed this half day trip to four vineyards with Cam as our group guide. Tasted some great wines. Loved the Sauvignon Blanc 2025 release at Nautilus. And the sparkling whites and Pinot Noir. Appreciated the pick up and return to accommodation, especially as it rained. Good food at Saint Clair kitchen too.
