Chapman's Peak Drive
This was named after john chapman, the pilot of an English Ship becalmed in today's Hout Bay in 1607. the skipper sent His pilot ashore to find provisions, and the names were Recorded as Chapmans Chaunce.

This is one of historical accounts says that Dias named the Promontory cape of storms and then king john 2 of Portugal Renamed it cape of good hope. {because its discovery was good omen that India could be reached by sea from europe} other bsources attribute its present name to dias.

I loved this tour. I didn’t know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. Justin, our tour guide, provided highlights along the drive, didn’t rush us at any of the stops, was polite and a great guide. The stops were all worth stopping at and seeing the penguins up close was really cool.
