Mdina

Mdina was founded over 4000 years ago. It is the oldest fortified medieval town in Malta and sits on top of a hill. Mdina is said to have been where St Paul, the Apostle rested when he was shipwrecked. So if this is to be believed, this is a very ancient city. Its architecture is a mixture of baroque and medieval and there is just no place like it.

I highly recommend this tour. Johnathan was wonderful to communicate with before the tour. I knew exactly where and when we were meeting. Our driver was terrific. I highly recommend John. Very knowledgeable and personable. We started at the Blue Grotto, which was spectacular. We took the boat ride and it definitely is something that you should not miss. Then we went to the Dingli Cliffs and a little stop to sample prickly pear nectar. Next stop was Mdina, with John pointing out sites and explaining history and culture all along the way. We had many wonderful photo opportunities. Mdina was a bit of a climb for my limitations, but John drove us around so we could get an idea of the city. Then he added a stop at Mosta Dome. The church is beautiful. We had a restroom stop and a chance to sample some delicious local delicacies. Then it was back to the port in Valletta with photo stops on the way. John offered us water along the way and it was a lovely surprise at the end when he handed us a souvenir magnet and a bag with a sweet treat. Do not miss this tour with this company!

Our guide Jonathan was phenomenal. He shared the history and culture of the island with us during our tour. We tried Maltese coffee, biscuits, and cactus liqueur. Would definitely recommend. The Blue grotto is beautiful and Mdina is amazing.

Communication was good. We were contacted about adding the Church to our day, we agreed. This made our pickup an hour later and a big, uphill walk from the port to a hotel. Once we began our tour the church was never mentioned again. This wasn't a big issue as we were all hot and tired. Our drop-off was to be at the port however our guide/driver tried to drop us at the shuttle to the port. We saw a long line and insisted we be dropped of at port. The sites we visited were nice but very little information was given on them.

Absolutely the best! Thank you, Kenneth, for accommodating us and answering all of our questions! We rented a large van for just the 2 of us that was immaculate and perfect! Could Not have asked for a nicer tour!
