Visit Salalah to explore the local tropical paradise while also learning about Dhofar's culture and history. It is also well-known for producing high-quality frankincense. One of the destinations you will see is the Al Baleed Archaeological Site, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the four routes on the Frankincense Trail. Haffa Souq is one of the sites where you can buy souvenirs, frankincense, and other types of incense.

What To Expect

Sultan Qaboos Mosque

Visit the magnificent Sultan Grand Mosque, which features exquisite artwork and stained tiles. We can visit the mosque every day in the morning (08:30 - 11:00), except Friday, and we recommend that you bring a headscarf or the equivalent of a hijab for ladies and dress modestly. Shorts and sleeveless tops are not permitted. The next stop will be in the garden farms with the plantations of coconut, banana, papaya, and vegetables.

Al Balid Archeological Site

We'll go to Al Baleed, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Museum of the Frankincense Land. It displays the region's historical and archaeological heritage, as well as its exceptional maritime tradition. The Al Baleed site is open from 08:30 to 20:00 on Sundays through Thursdays, and from 15:00 to 20:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.

The tours arranged by Marhaba Dhofar tours was just incredible. We travelled to Salalah and decided to book tours at the hotel. By luck we could not get hold of anyone at the desk and took our chances in google search. Marhaba Dhofar tours appeared in the top five and that was a blessing Highly recommend and grateful to Awwad who promptly responded to all our queries on the tours and booked the City Tour the next day. Very helpful and enthusiastic to give the best service that we thoroughly enjoyed with the best tour guide who was a local Omani - Saeed. He showed us the best places and covered the half day tour with such knowledge about every place visited. Very satisfied with the tour arrangements and the guide.
