We did the half day tour of Faial as part of our package and our guide , Andre, was amazing. Very informative, gave us loads of time at every stop and even threw in an extra stop. The day was amazing and highly recommend.

This tour was perfect for a couple of girls that did not have transportation while in the Azores. We were staying in Pico and wanted to explore another island so we took the quick ferry to Faial and the tour guide even picked us up at the ferry terminal to begin the tour. We had Victor who was very nice and had good knowledge of the island. He flawlessly switched from Portuguese (for our other tour guests) to English for us. But the tour itself was great! It hit all the main sites of Faial that everyone needs to see when they visit here. Everything we saw was so unique, even with the weather changing every half hour. We highly recommend this tour!

The tour guide was top notch! He was informative with stories and interesting facts. He was kind I have mobility issues and he was always there to lend a hand. He had water and snacks available. I never felt rushed and I never felt that we were missing out on anything. It was a lovely day on Faial.

Our cruise ship was tendered for this port. At the time we when we were supposed to disembark we were told that the sea as too rough and we would not be able to go ashore. The tour company states in their printed cancellation policy that the tour can be cancelled due to bad weather with a full refund, but apparently that’s only if THEY want to cancel. We later found out that Faisal is only about a 50% chance of tendering as the water is often too rough. DON’T book this tour unless you get a no fault guarantee.

The tour allowed us to comfortably see things we would have missed by not having a car. A highlight was the optional walk across the [geologically] new terrain. And we were fortunate to see the crater at the island’s center despite an impending storm. Our driver was knowledgeable and friendly, patiently answering our random questions. There was no sense of being rushed when we asked to spend extra time at a few sites. Worthwhile for exploring the island in half a day!

It was a great way to see the island if you don’t have a car. The island is very diverse. We enjoyed seeing the sight of the 1958 volcanic eruption.

This was a wonderful way to see Faial. Because it was a small group we had time to ask questions and see everything we wanted to. Victor was very knowledgeable about the island, the villages, the history, and the people.

I was afraid that a half-day tour would not be enough, but we covered all the most important parts of the island (and even more, because our guide Andres also took us to places that were not included in the programme). The tour is planned down to the smallest detail so that you can fully enjoy the island of Faial, for example by taking picturesque inland roads and avoiding the main roads. I highly recommend it, it was much appreciated!
