5.00My trip to the dead sea was incredible and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Jordan. However, expect it to be more crowded than maybe other spots at it is a real tourist hot spot - but don't let that put you off, embrace it! Get those classic photos of floating on water and covering yourself in mud - it's such a cool experience. Shout out to my driver for the day Faisal who was great to spend the time driving there and back with and getting to know him and more about Jordan and its culture/people. He was super friendly, punctual and responsive. He also helped me plan a trip for the next day... The next day, which I organised separately with Faisal, I visited Jesus Christ' baptism site, Mount Nebo and Madaba. Faisal arranged for his colleague Younis to drive me on day two. Younis was equally as great to spend the day with, super friendly and reconfirmed my feeling that the Jordanian people are the most welcoming I have ever encountered. Shukran, Salam Alaikum Faisal and Younis!!

The Dead Sea itself is a must-see — floating in the salty water was surreal. A peaceful and safe experience from beginning to end.
