We purposely spend two nights in Hanmer Springs area, so then we can spend almost a full day at the pools. First of all, I'm a huge fan of thermal pools and when I learned that they have over 20 outdoor pools, I was very excited. Buying the ticket was easy, we stayed in line, purchased two tickets, admission for an adult was NZD43, and we brought our own towels because our accommodation provided that, so we didn't rent any towels and we didn't rent any lockers as well because we brought a bag and there's nothing valuable and you could just leave your stuff around. There's plenty of chairs and tables with umbrellas to put your belongings, but if you want to be safe, then of course you can rent a locker as well. And upon going in, we were given a map and we really wanted to go to the pools that had like the minerals and so we start all the way at the back and where they have the minerals and the jets as well. I would say that the jets were not very strong at all, meaning like if you're thinking to get a neck or shoulder massage, forget them. It's just probably a very weak massage if you would. But what's the surprising part was that there were four water slides. They were a lot of fun. I can't remember when was the last time I went on those slides. That was definitely the highlight of our trip and I would say they kept the facility relatively clean. The bathroom was a little bit kind of out of the way to go to and they have this cold plunge, a new cold plunge that we were told by the staff that they just started like on the 3rd week in Nov; the bottom is extremely slippery and we encouraged them to maybe put some rubber mats / pads at the bottom to prevent people from slipping. But other than that, we enjoyed every minute of it and wish we'd have spent more time there. One thing I was very concerned was about mosquito and sand flies because we know that they're usually active during sunrise and sunset. Fortunately, we didn't encounter any, but we did bring a repellent just in case!

We had a lovely time here. The pools are quite varied and all very well maintained/ cleaned and the lifeguards are very good at ensuring that all the rules are followed, such as keeping kids out of the adults only pools. There are lockers available to hire for $4 for 2 hrs or $8 for 4 hrs. There are lots of change rooms and showers.

A beautiful way to spend a cold but clear morning in Hanmer Springs. The pools were lovely, the changing facilities are spacious and well equipped and the staff were friendly and helpful. We were there at a quieter time which made moving between the different pools easy.

I visited the pools on a grey day with intermittent rain. Despite the less than ideal weather, I stayed nice and warm in various hot pools. There is some rain protection from a type of large umbrella above several pools. I went to several different pools and enjoyed the 2 water slides included in the price. Locker hire was worthwhile, especially in the rain, to ensure your belongings and towel stayed dry. Glad there was a discounted price for entry, as on a wet day I'm not sure I would pay full price. Also glad they were flexible as to type of swimsuit, as I prefer something that provides more coverage than the norm.

I don't like to provide bad reviews, however, Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Hydroslides over the labour weekend deserves it. Firstly, locker bands, not to sure why we were allowed to pay for one of these considering there were no lockers available throughout the complex. Secondly, crowd size, the thermal pools resembled crayfish in craypots on the boil. This was the only time that made me laugh. Thirdly, the Violet Vortex and the Waiau Winder hydroslides. On the website, it states '..... exhilarating rides'. Maybe exhilarating for 3 year olds. I think it needs higher volumes of water as they were so slow. Either that or I need to put on extra weight. Have to admit, this facility will be avoided in the future should we return to Hanmer.

Booked online. The drive to Hanmer Springs is unbelievable. Getting into the Thermal Springs is just off main street. If you don't have a towel you can hire one and a locker for your belongings. You can take food in and enjoy the facilities. There is a water slide play area for the smaller ones. It was a sunny but cool day but many were enjoying the change from pool to air. We chose a private hot pool to unwind from our travels. They are clean with a shower in each room and water available to refresh your thirst. It was a great experience.

Well run tourism venue that caters for individual and families. Spent a few hours there relaxing in the hot pools and playing on the slides. Hard to fault. Lockers are a little on the smaller side so avoid bringing oversized beach bags as they may not fit. Once finished bathing can stroll down the Main Street browsing. Can recommend.
