At either 8:00AM or 13:00, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel lobby and take you to our bicycle store to select suitable bikes. After getting comfortable with your bicycle and hearing a safety briefing, we will begin our ride. Our first stop is the Long Bien Bridge, the oldest bridge in Hanoi, built over 100 years ago during French colonial times. From here, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Red River, watch boats float underneath, and observe green vegetable farms on the island.
Dong Ahn
We will begin by cycling along the banks of the Red River, enjoying the stunning natural beauty of Vietnam's countryside and observing farmers cultivating their lands. Our journey will take us to a local family that specializes in the art of bonsai, where we can learn about this intricate craft and admire their stunning plant creations. Next, we will continue our cycling tour to a local wet market and we will then take a break at lotus lake, where we can quench our thirst with refreshing sugarcane juice or other local beverages. We will continue cycling along dirt roads and through rural villages until we reach the Co Loa Ancient Citadel. This historic site was constructed in 200 BC and played an important role in Vietnam's history of establishing and defending the country against foreign invaders, specifically Thuc Phan An Duong Vuong.

A huge thank you to Summi and her team for a fun and informative afternoon on Sunday. We thoroughly enjoyed the bike ride as well all the cultural stops we made. We felt protected in the crazy Hanoi traffic by Summi’s team escorting us on scooters and the pace of the cycling was easy to follow but felt like a good work out in parts. We have been to Hanoi a number of times for business and this gave us a more traditional view of local life. High recommended!

Excellent tour that is very well organized, tour guide did a great job on entertaining as well as sharing her knowledge to the group. Enough water was provided and the guides not only ensured you were shielded from the busy traffic but also ensured continuously if you were still doing OK. Great to see the outskirts of Hanoi with interesting stops and amazing scenery

We had an amazing cycling tour around the countryside of Hanoi! The views were beautiful, the ride was relaxing, and we got to see a more local, peaceful side of Vietnam. Our guide Brian was super friendly and knowledgeable — he made the experience fun and easygoing, always checking that everyone was comfortable. Totally recommend it if you want to escape the busy city for a few hours!

This was a such an engaging trip led by an exceptional guide. You will miss such much of the natural beauty, personality, and lovely people of Hanoi if you don’t take advantage of what may be the richest travel experience in the city. Brian is just the best. He knows his bikes and safety. But also shady lanes, the countryside stops, some amazing characters, and wonderful short cuts across rivers!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 An Unforgettable, Insightful, and Heartfelt Bike Tour through Vietnam This bike tour was an absolute highlight of our travels—equal parts adventure, education, and cultural immersion. The first part took us through the vibrant city and into the peaceful countryside, offering a deeper look into the rhythm of local life in Vietnam. Riding across a bridge bombed too many times to rebuild was a powerful reminder of the country's past. We stopped to learn about the art of broom making—just 75 cents per broom!—and passed through fields of rice crops swaying in the breeze. A cool beverage break gave us time to take it all in before ending with a visit to a serene temple, steeped in history and spiritual beauty. The heat was hitting us (about 32+ C) but our guides took care of us. We visited a local family home where historical giants like the hero of independence and possibly even Ho Chi Minh himself once visited. We were warmly welcomed with green tea, and the homeowner generously shared his family’s multi-generational story—from the tradition of multiple wives to his own time serving in the "American War." His journey from railway worker to bike business owner was captivating, especially when he showed us his perfectly preserved bike and original 1963 paper license plate. The tour ended among his bonsai trees, a peaceful and fitting conclusion. Every stop felt meaningful, and every story added depth to the beautiful places we visited. The guide was knowledgeable, respectful, and made the entire experience smooth and enriching. If you’re looking to truly connect with Vietnam’s culture, people, and history—this bike tour is a must. Five stars without hesitation!

Even though we cycled a little in the madness that is Hanoi, we felt safe with our guides. Brian was knowledgeable and passionate about his city. The stops on the tour were great. We especially liked the stop where we visited the home of an elderly resident who made us feel very welcome. Thank you

My sister’s last day in Hanoi so we decided on a half day cycling tour before we embark on our own travel journey in Vietnam. Cycling in Hanoi City is not for the faint hearted, but the tour guide made us feel very safe navigating through crazy peak hour traffic, amongst buses, cars and motorbikes. Once away from the city, it was a relaxing ride along the banks of the Red River, cross the Long Bien Bridge, past local markets on narrow streets, and through picturesque rural countryside. The weather in Hanoi is extremely hot and humid at the moment. We were expecting to cycle with other tourists but was extremely surprised to learn that there were only two of us for tour. It works out well in the end but it would be nice to know this information before hand.
